As you may know, many of the Mets spent the last few days helping out in the relief effort here: meeting the families, delivering supplies etc.

Will this be a source of extra inspiration tonight?

I personally think so, I'm looking for Piazza, who was very active in speaking with the families of the missing, to have a huge game.

Anyone else agree with this angle?

I agree with this angle. But one thing disturbs me about capping any and all of these games today and through the next week or so.

In light of what has just happened. ALL of these games seem unimportant and irrelevant. Maybe unimportant to the players as well. And those teams that have been doing rather well may believe that they can afford to "blow" a few games and concentrate their energies other places including family, home and with the New Yorkers their city.

I still think that the better teams are more likely to win but who can really tell?
