intriguing matchup tonight for my second alma mater miami huricanes. this line opened up at miami -1- and went almost immediatly to -3, and has bounced between 3 and 4 since, in spite of the fact that the eagles have been one of the most popular public dogs all week. both teams are off the bye, but the intangibles seem to be favoring bc and impeding the canes. miami is off the stinging loss in charlottesville and in the midst of quarterback controversies. richt is starting to be second-guessed by the fans. canes have also dropped 4 of their last 5 games away from miami.
meanwhile, bc is undefeated at home with their stud running back aj dillon scheduled to return. homies are looking for a big turnout and a national tv audience for "red bandanna" night honoring a former bc lacrosse player who died on 9/11 after saving a dozen people. even the weather - cold, damp, in the low 40's - seems to favor the home team. massey ratings give the eagles a 51% chance at victory.
yet the hook remains . . . i just can't fathom why. is my homer bias leading me to want play miami tonight, or is there some hocus pocus going on here?
