Hank Goldberg: Here We Go Again! [9/17/02]

It's the whole here we go again syndrome for the Dolphins. The first thing that goes wrong will lead to other things going wrong, like two years ago when they had the big lead over the Jets in the fourth quarter and they lost the game. It was like being caught in an avalanche. We start thinking here we go again.

Green Bay in Domes. Their record in domes is bad. They're a bad dome team, and it becomes a psyche. There's not that much bravado with the Jets though. Maddog (Jim Mandich) said New York now belongs to the Jets, but I don't know about that. I think New York will always be a Giants town.

The Jets have six new starters on defense and they've given up 816 yards in two games. 305 on the ground. The Dolphins will run at the Jets. What's disturbing for Herman Edwards is that they can't get off the field on third down. They wanted to go to a more open attack and that's why they've only given Curtis Martin the ball eight times. They're going back to him this week. Vinny was sacked three times and held less than 200 yards. The Patriots are to the Jets what the Jets are to the Dolphins. They got away from the boring offense from last year that worked for them and went more open. think they'll go back to the old offense this week. My fear as a Dolphins fan is that they haven't looked good against the run, and if Surtain can't play thee's a hole on the field, and Jets special teams.
