I bought the rare six pack tonight to sit back, relax, and watch the game tonight. I figured I would do the "healthiest" thing and try this beer. Unfortunately, just like anything low fat/low calorie, it sucks. This beer has absolutely no taste. I thought I had bought a six pack of "The Beast" or something. Next up is Sam Adams Light...Sammy is my favorite but I am quite hesitant to think it can be good as a light beer.

Enjoy your spirits,
M

If I would have drowned it in a bag of Doritos, it might have tasted good. This beer is nasty...please forget the calories and buy a beer you truly love...it's not worth it.

My girlfriend did the low carb thing for a while and had Ultra around all the time. I gotta say, I didnt mind it at all.

Ask yourself this, if you are going hard core dieting and working out for 6 months while watching what you eat, would you rather drink:

A - No beer
B - Michelob Ultra

Uh huh, thats what I thought:D

have to agree with you Munson, this beer has NO taste.... Not even an aftertaste in my opinion.... Have to wonder about a beer that I can drink and not burp!!!! Bought it to try, but will not buy again. About Sam Adams light, must say I really enjoyed it..... By the way where are you from in Nashville? Just wondering I live just south of the city towards Percy Priest Lake.

This suprises me. I really thought it was ok. The aftertaste one thing I liked about it. Oh well, to each their own.
Speaking of beers......
In my late teens, my friends and I all drank Beast Light. You could get a 12 pack for about 4 bucks and we got used to the taste. Once, when I was out with my future wife, we decided to get some beer. In no way was I gonna subject her to the Beast so I asked what she liked. "Heineken" she said so I pulled into the drive thru, asked for a 12 of Heineken, and the guy says..."that'll be 14 dollars!"
As we pulled away, I said wow...14 bucks for a 12....is there any other kinda beer you like? "Coors Light's ok" she said. It's been the silver bullet ever since! :D

why do you guys drink lite beer?

if you're getting too fat, drag your big ass, moon1 out to the track a run a few laps. And keep doing it until you die.

what's this with carbs, anyway? First, it was sugar, then it was calories, then it was fat, and now its carbs. What's it going to be 5 years from now, broccoli? You know what's bad for you. You know what overeating is. If you choose to be unhealthy at least be honest about it. Lite beer. My god.

I know people who get home from work and sit on their couch and do nothing till they go to bed and think that if they put fat-free mayonnaise on their ham sandwich they're going to take pounds off.

It's pretty easy, and yet so difficult: "eat less and exercise". Shit, the Greeks knew that -- you think the Spartans put that army together by eating fewer carbs? I say enjoy your food and drink, but you got to get out there and get a sweat going a few times a week if you want to keep wearing them jeans you bought in college.

Noodle--I live in Smyrna.

JSmooth--The Beast Light...those were the days! You couldn't beat that deal in college. We would buy 12 packs and sit around and play Caps all night...then it was off to Krystal at two a.m. to eat 15 burgers...finally woke up the next morning with the worst hangover ever. I have never had hangovers as bad as the ones The Beast gave me.

The funny thing to me about Ultra is that it is really not that much different from the other light beers.

From Michelob Web site.

Michelob Ultra - 95 Calories, 2.6g Carbs
Miller Lite - 96 Calories, 3.2g Carbs
Coors Lite - 102 Calories, 5.0g Carbs
Corona Lite - 105 Calories, 5.0g Carbs

In high school and college it was Keystone Light. Now it is Coors Light. Every now and again for old time sake I buy the old Keystone Light 30 pack for 12.99. You can't beat that!!!!!

For those people out there doing the Adkins low carb diet, you can have a 12-pack of Ultras or 10 Miller Lites for the same amount of carbs. :D I still think that the Ultra is better than Coors Light! Coors Light is like screwing in a canoe -- they are both f**king close to water!!!! :)

Some friends of mine own a Budweiser distributorship and they told me that Mich Ultra was targeted for the chicks. Most products have a target market, and this one is for the woman. I personally don't care for it as I also think it doesn't have alot of flavor. Won't be long till Coors and Miller will have something similar out.
