Are crying the blues because there is a shortage of immigrants to pick cherries and apples. Americans won't do the work because it is too hard and pay is low.

Now they are sorry they voted for Republicans. They can eat rotten cherries. LMAO!:mj07:

Couldn't the shortage of workers be more to with demographics than politics???

Having married a Latina I can tell you Latinos do not like the cold... My guess would be the shortage of Latino immigrants in Michigan has more to do with it so being miserably cold and less to do with whom is in office...

They also like to live and work with thier own.. my stepdad is from Michigan and I hardly see any latin culture there at all.. My wife joked on our last visit there are no Spanish people here to dance with. She wanted to find a Latin club. Couldn't find one.

Texas is about as red and republican as it gets and no shortages here...

Tell it to the Michigan fruit growers who have always had enough migrants -

Michigan unemployment rate is 8.4%.

I am sure they can find people to do the work - maybe not as experienced as migrants but there is a labor force available.

I call Bullshit on nobody to do the job.

I had 5 seasonal positions available - manual labor, minimum wage - had 160 applicants - teens to seniors.

But it makes for a nice liberal story.

You're a hoot. ssd. When facts don't support your ideology, just call them lies.

Just north of me is a large fruit grower, a big operation which employees perhaps 100 seasonal workers.

I was talking to the owner last year, and remarked to him that all his field hands appeared to me Hispanic.

"Why no local kids for the Summer?", I asked.

"I'd love to hire local kids, but very few are even willing to try. The few I have hired mostly didn't finish the first day before they walked off, and, so far, none have come back the second day."

Nice strawman argument.

"The fruit grower who lives near me can't find workers...."

Trust me, I'm IN agriculture. I know the story. I live it every year. It isn't easy but I find local people to do the work.

Besides, I was just at a trade show......you should see the robots that are coming........!
