Through a long discussion about weather on-line micro-stakes poker is beatable or not I have been challenged to a wager by a friend of mine.

I say you have to be the biggest tool on the planet not to be able to beat the micro players at Stars, it's just not worth your time playing at that level.

My friend says it's not beatable because it's too dependant on getting the best hand often enough because the donkeys play/call everything and it takes too much of the "poker" out of it.

I see his point, but still think you could win (albeit pennies) long term, so here is what he is proposing, tell me if you think he's getting too much weight here because I am considering trying it.

We each put up $200 and I have to turn $5 into $50 in 10 days.

I can only play .01/.02NL holdem

I can only play one table at a time

I get 0 days off, it has to be the 10 consecutive days after we agree.

I can't reload if I bust (this signicantly effects strategy)

I can only start each session by bringing $1 to the table.

I just need to get above $50 at any point in the 10 days so I really am trying to profit $45.01 to win the bet.

I need to average making $4.50 a day and am trying to figure out how long that could take.

Thoughts?

If you were trying to beat it you certainly wouldn't use this dumb approach.

I think it would be tough...

I think it can be easily done on .10-.20 also. The disparity between bad fish play at the penny limits and .10-.20 doesn't seem significant. But then again profit wise, there wouldn't be anything significant either (with .10-.20).

this will be rough. at school when all i did was play poker, i tried to help some of my buddies build a roll and id always put like 5-10 bucks in their accounts and try to help them play with it. At these low levels its really hard to play "poker." You will see the stupidest shit ever and most play wont make sense.

Which was kinda my point, and his I guess. It would be easy to build $5 into $50 EVENTUALLY, I'm just not sure I could put enough time into it in 10 days to get there considering it was .01/.02NL

SD, if I could play it at .10/.20 NL I think anyone with a heartbeat and reasonable IQ could pull it off.

I'd say it would be a fun challenge, but considering it's summer and I have work to do on the house I can't imagine spending 8 hours a day grinding away for pennies.
