On second glance, I would also play OSU, all the rest of the games with the exception of Maryland, are bad teams playing bad teams and you cannot handicap turnovers and mental errors bad teams consistently make.

Rice?

Rice?

Hey guys, I have been reading all of your posts, for a while, but have just now registered. Thanks for all you all do. One question...why are most of you leaning towards Rice? I thought Hawaii was the sure play here. What am I missing?

no sure thing with this game, but i like it quite a bit...my rationale is based on rice`s past success vs hawaii(beat them the last three, including on the islands last year)....and even though hawaii has a revenge motive, rice has historically been pretty tough at home, even against big time offensive passing teams(although they started slowly vs houston this year)...finally,the scheduling here is weird....this is rice`s final game and it is at home...they are coming off a big time embarrassment vs boise...while hawaii has 3 MORE GAMES on the schedule, all at home...no guarantee, and please don`t change your own opinion based on my take....maybe someone else can weigh in with more info....g.l.

Hello MC glad to see your not wasting time capping useless games....BE very Careful with Alabama...i assure you they are looking at Auburn next week....Lsu has the QB back and in Baton Rouge at night..spells deep shit for the Tide...Wyoming has a fair spread...what concerns me is that the line is moving up...not a good sign for a cover in my opinion...too many people are looking at the Air Force win...Oregon St. is a value play..i like this play..gl

Joe perhaps you misunderstood my comments to MC, there were not intended to be a hack job. Basically, I just feel that late in the season teams that are bad have nothing to play for and really don't put forth their best efforts. this is not the NFL they have no financial stake to lose. Sure some bad teams may have a few guys that are NFL prospects that will give it 100%, but the vast majority have given up on the season and just want to get the season over with and get home for break. Sloppy teams play sloppy football, when you have two bad teams matched up then what do you really expect other than turnovers and bad football. Tell me how can you compensate in your handicpping of a game for this?

Also, is Mauck back for LSU this week? If so I would advise a pass on this game based on how the team reacts to his return and how rusty will he be.

Thanks for the constructive critiscm Gridiron, but if I used your theory on handicapping only good games I would only have about 6 games aweek to handicap. I think your logic is screwed up some of the best value is on games that Joe Public doesnt place much action on.
