I keep reading that Lt Gen Luts and Rep Rangel keep talking of bringing back the draft. I think these guys are high on something. The military is a life you have to CHOOSE, the idea that the draft will solve the numbers problem in the military is BS. Maybe the better answer is lLISTEN to the people of the U.S. (right or wrong) and get to hell out of Iraq and Afganistan. The other alternative is to allow the military to use everything at their disposal and stop fighting a political war! JMHO after serving 20 years by choice!

Come on. You don't like the draft?

How else can the powers that be send all the able-bodied young males who would otherwise be just starting out in the workforce in low-paying jobs over to Iraq to die or be maimed, whine about how no Americans want to do certain jobs, and let even more illegal Immigrants in to drain our resources.

Makes perfect sense, huh? What a sad joke this country has become.

We wouldn't have the freedom we do today if not for drafts in the past.

I'm not saying we need one now, but they had a time and place.

Draft

Draft

I hate to be so uninformed but I believe that other than the draft for Vietnam we haven't had nor needed a draft. I must tell you, the military way of life isn't something I believe ou can draft for successfully in today's society. If someone doesn't want to be there, what kind of job do you think they will do? I obviously don't want a draft, I want our troops home and used to defend our country and stop trying to change a part of the world that have fought each other for hundreds if not thousands of years.

Vietnam was not the first draft Lookn4Help. They used to set it up so you could buy your way out of it back in the 19th century. You might not like the idea of people going into the military against their will, but the military is good at breaking people down and "helping" them form into soldiers.

The prospects for a draft get better by the day. This is Vietnam II, and I expect it to follow in part I's footsteps....which included a draft.
