Finally a race!!!!!!!! This track is not an oval but a road one wich bring us new drivers to watch... (Castroneves,Franchitti,Andretti,De ferran and Moreno are all good on road tracks) More to come later on today!

well... my feelings toward that race are not that bad!

After first practice session, we find Castroneves 1st, De Ferran 2nd, Franchitti 6th, Andretti 9th and Moreno 14 th among the 38 drivers! Seems we should have fun again this week!

Second practice results with De Ferran 1st and Castroneves 2nd !

What can we expect from that 12th race (one has been suspended) of the season? We saw 8 differents winners among the first 11 races (a record so far in this series). There are 9 races to go til the end of the season and Brack is leading the standing with 104 pts, followed by Castroneves 82 pts and Franchitti 81 pts. A statistic important to note is that Brack had 79 pts on oval tracks and only 25 pts on road ones. 6 out of 9 race left are on the road wich means his lead in the standing shouldn't last until the end of the season ! I'm wondering if some books don't have lines for outright winner of the season in Cart... I'd love to put $$$ on Castroneves and Franchitti ! These guys are better driver on road tracks and with 22 points lead by Brack, we should get good odds on them ! Any books out there ?

The track in mid-ohio is narrow with lots of curves so overtaking might be risky. Starting positions on the grid will then be vital on match ups. My outright picks for that race would be: 1- Castroneves, 2-De Ferran 3-Andretti 4-Franchitti.

Unfortunately, i see no odds yet available for that race...

Race will be broadcast live on ESPN, TSN and RDS at noon sunday the 12th.

Vasser -110 over tagliani (2 units)

hate to bet against the local guy but vasser has been ahead of tagliani during all weekend practices and has a better record than him on road tracks.

Franchitti -125 over carpentier (1 unit)

Same mantra here (hate to go against a local guy) but i'm going with the best driver in road track here and it is definitely Franchitti. However, Carpentier is the hottest driver right now in the series so be cautious...

Dixon +115 over andretti (1 unit)

This pick is for my good buddy Anders

. Both are even in my book and at +115 there is value with the rookie "down under" Dixon! It is a sort of long shot so just a unit on him.

the first rule (and only one i think!)i follow about Cart is to never, ever, EVER lay more than -150 in a match ups. Too many things can happened during a race and it is really like playing with matches to do so. One day, you get burned by a high favorite...

Go the Dixon boy!! As you say, just a unit - he tends to run hot and cold - which is more his car's fault than him I believe. Don't know if road tracks are his forte.
