Any of you northern brothers that could advise on Minneapolis area golf scene? Coming up there for a conference and need to take out a couple customers. They will drink their handicaps so the beverage cart and its driver are more important than stint meter/course aesthetics.

They are at the Millenium hotel. The concierge mentioned Legends, Wilds or something '____worth'? Oh yeah, and what about gentlemens clubs up there these days? Whats the best one and are they still restricted from selling alcohol? Any help is appreciated.

Okay, need to know what we're dealing with here. Is money an object? Will there be driving going on, or cabs, or what? Are you looking to impress in an upscale manner, or are you looking for more "bang for the buck"? I got the location, so you're close to Minneapolis stuff. Gentlemen's Clubs are not so good in the Cities, if you are looking for more than just spending $20 for an air dance.

If you are looking to impress and won't be driving, but drinking a lot, I'd suggest this scenario:

The Wilds in Prior Lake is a great course, but it's a long haul from the hotel. If you can drive there and hold it together and still drive back, it's a great course. As I recall (a few years ago) they had wonderful and HOT cart girls, if that's important (it usually is...). I've heard Legends is really nice, too. There are some city courses close that aren't too bad but aren't impressive. Brookview is pretty close, but is a public course.

Two pretty nice gentlemen's clubs downtown in Minneapolis is the newer Seville Club, and the old reliable Shieks. Neither is cheap, but both have nice women. Both serve alcohol, but are not nude.

The best strip club in the area is the King of Diamonds, which is closer to the Mall of America. You get good value for the $$ there, it's all nude, and they serve alcohol. The girls get pretty up close and personal there for $10, or they used to, but the clientele and the establishment is a little more blue collar than white.

There are a lot of great clubs and restaurants in the area close to you. But, I opted to give you some ideas based on your questions. It's a great time of year to come up here, too. Enjoy, and ask anything you want, I've been around up here for about 13 years.

Oh, and evidently there is a martini bar in that hotel that was rated the best conversation bar in the cities. Just thought I would mention it - have no idea if that's a good thing or a bad thing...;)

I agree with everything he mentioned. Sheiks last place I have been to years ago, had the best girls, but again topless not nude.

Restaurants I would recommend the McCormick and Schmicks for Seafood: http://www.mccormickandschmicks.com/

Manny's for steaks: http://www.mannyssteakhouse.com/

Pure meat eaters delight: Fogo de Ch?o
http://www.fogodechao.com/

You cannot go wrong with these, and they are downtown, Mpls!

What conference BTW, and if extra free time, there could be a chance we all 3 hook up for a happy hour drink.

Just as long as it is not next week. I got a final vacation to get in at the cabin!

For a really unique experience, I suggest a happy hour at Brit's Pub (really not far from you at all). Great food and brews, people, and they have this really cool lawn bowling setup on the roof that is something really different. On a nice weather day, that's a great place to go.

When are you coming? The weather here is supposed to be amazing this week, 70's, mostly sunny, cool nights. Another different idea, depending on the clients and when you are coming is the inaugural season of the new Gopher stadium. Should be a great time over there, although tickets are tough to come by, I've heard. Not that close to you, but not a bad cab ride.

Also, there is a light rail system that connects downtown to a lot of different areas. Maybe check into that if you want to see a lot, and drink a lot, at the same time... :mj06:

great information, dudes! Thanks a million, everything I am looking for. Will definitely stop into martini bar for a couple dirtys. Dog, I have been to Mannys and you are right, it is tops. May have to try McCormick and Schmicks this time.

Driving up avenue of saints Tuesday early. Grab taxi -- don't want to call chadman or dog at midnight for help making bail -- and clients. Go play eighteen. Go back to hotel and crash. J/K -will probably end up at the indian casino or this king of diamonds place. Either way will enjoy red bull vodkas until ATM card poops out.

This is a telecom show for mainly outside plant type guys. So steak, golf, dancers and booze and they are happy for another year. The show hours are 12-6 on Wednesday. I will head to Brits Pub for cocktails happy hour and watch the sun go down while lawn bowling. If you guys can show up it would be terrific. Drinks are on me. Do they bet on the lawn bowling up there?:brows:

Wednesday will be tough for me - I work in the Cities on Thursday and Friday and rarely drive in on my school studyin' days like Wednesday. It takes me about an hour and a half - or more - to get from home all the way into downtown, let along parked and in place somewhere, and then I have to drive back home after "stuff." So, I'll probably have to pass, but will give it some thought. If you guys are going to be around on Thursday or Friday late afternoon or evening, maybe I can do that - I work north of there in Plymouth, and getting downtown is not too tough, especially if I get out of work before or by 4:00, which is usually the case.

With the lawn bowling, as with most everything, as long as you have a taker, you can probably bet on it. ;)

If memory serves, there used to be a farmer's market kind of thing on Nicolette Mall, which brings out a bunch of people. There should be plenty of "eye candy" out and about if the weather is good... lots of places you can go to downtown, without having to drive at all.

So, were you guys up here? Amazing weather last week, continuing into this week, too. Should have been plenty to *see* if you were out and about!

hey chadman, yes it was a glorious time. Did it all thanks to your social directing. Ended up going to Mannys with clients one night and had a great dinner, great service, best steak since last time at Mannys. Went to McCormicks seafood joint the second night and service was terrible. Finally ordered and they were out of my selection. I said, "Just bring me the scallops then." Dude comes back in five minutes, we're all out of scallops too. And that was about 8:00 PM. The only golf ended up at the par three/executive course downtown. It was close and worked well since the clients turned out to be hackers.

Came out of that gentlemens club Tuesday night downtown and the streets were lined with women screaming in delight. Turned out the American Idol tour show had just ended and these chicks were all trying to catch a glimpse of "the stars" as they high-tailed it to their luxury buses out of the stage door. I immediately went to the pharmacy to purchase birth control devices, yet when I returned, the crowd of women had dispersed.

Thanks again for all the great info. The weather was great but all that construction downtown was horrible. Ended up going the wrong way on Nicorette Mall and some cop on a segway tried to take me down. Wonder if I will get a ticket in the mail?
