GEEEEEEEEZ.....please someone reply atleast ill feel a little better...this has got to be the worst bad beat day for me ever!
u guys know i dont ever say much...but nfl has me so frustrated right now....ive got to vent...........can someone please take the prevent defense and shove up it up every defensive co-ordinators ass....i know these guys dont care about not-covering the spread...but the prevent cost numerous teams outright wins today...how can they be so stupid....and we see the same shit week after week...what a joke.

i played 8-games today and won 2 easily....i was winning/covering the other 6-plays at the 3-minute mark in 4th qtr....and LOST all 6-plays!
un-freakin-believable....i went 2-6 today and easily couldve been 7-1 or 8-0....i mean im not a bad person....i hold doors open for old ladies....i dont run onto the baseball fields and attempt to beat up 60-year old baseball coaches...im a good guy...can my luck be this bad? i guess so...anyone else out there get smoked like i did today?

special thanks to....chicago....tennesee....gbay....denver...ne...
etc....fawk them all.

gluck all...youll need it...burgh.

I am right there with all of you thought I had Denver covered and get the beat late get the late cover with detroit but that made a 2 win day and 5 losses trying for the bail out tonight with atlanta -7 and under 41.
If it is any consoling our top cappers are finding the road just as frustrating not meaning any harm in the comment but we are all getting hammered at this point.

My 2 top plays were minny and kc the way it is lately dogs are the way to go but even then its tough to feel confident. Hang in better times are ahead

I feel your pain....freaken prevent is just them trying to say I feel sorry for ya so go ahead and score so you don't lose so bad.A loss is a loss so why go away from what is working.Prevent defense should be considered part of the offense not the defense:rolleyes: Good Luck tommarrow.

I was on the Bears and Pats for the 2nd half. My only 2 losses on the day and I'm still pissed. It's the play not to lose mentality. Why go away from what works for 58 minutes only to give away the game or make it more interesting than it needs to be? That's why I keep saying I'm going to quit betting the NFL. As it is, I refuse to make a big play on a game because of all of the BS that occurs. Most of my wagers are now cut down to .5 or 1 units. That's it. It's not worth giving away profits made the entire week on the other sports. Not worth the aggravation either.

It's been a tough season to be sure. Can't say any of my losses really stood out today as an exceptionally bad beat.

I could say Wash +9 hurt...but I never got the feeling watching that game that the Skins would cover....even though losing by 7 most of the game, it just looked inevitable.

Arizona....%$*@....these guys are down 8 with no timeouts and less than :30 on the clock....running the hurry up....complete a pass, everyone hustles to the line, except whoever the WR is on the right hand side....he's in SD territory and strolling back like he's got all the time in the world, while the rest of the team stands frozen, waiting for him so they can snap the ball. Cards do manage to get the snap off, but the clock hits :00 when the incomplete pass hits the turf. If the damn WR had moved his ass they'd have had another play, at least (assuming an incomplete pass). Not that the Cards really deserved to cover....but it WAS within reach, no reason to take 10 seconds to amble into position.

Middling the game and 2nd Half of the GB game basically saved my ass for the day....that and Buff's final TD.

oh boy, this thread is perfect for me.....im in that big carib nfl contest, so go 5-0 first week quite happy.....proceed to go 2-8 last week and this week....(2 and f*****g 8), that is just awful..last week i can take my 1-4, i went vs the public as i always do, dallas being my only good pick, and got my ass handed to me they gave some games away..today though, was just downright awful......20-0 bears early on had them, quite happy....21-7 titans at half had them -4.5 quite happy......then as always happens, 21-20 saints, and 21-14 titans at the same time....then after bears f up, and sure enough, Im sitting at giants stadium before the game starts....and see cleveland tie it at 28, and just couldnt believe it..pray for the td in ot by tennesee, of course doesnt happen, lose by 6, there goes that so 0-2.............seattle my one solid one, i was there and im big Giants fan, seattle played a solid game, did enough to cover and my team won so got the right results there.....7-0 zona, they proceed as usual to go down, on a fukin safety too, offense sucks as well....then see 23-15 at end, and as someone just posted, apparently boston or another wr screwed up...awful.....then the worst, the god damn broncos...I didnt see this game but imagine it was painful and happy i didnt. ..14-0 lead for them, thn 14-7, then 14-10.........still, potent offense i figured 28-17 or thereabouts final.....28-16 at end, apparently buffalo scored bs td to cover...... Im SICK of the NFL...its by far the biggest bs sport to bet, Im not being bitter, but its the truth......vegas plays games with everyone, nobody really beats the nfl...college sports are MUCH MUCH easier to win on....you can know much more about some teams then the man does on a mountainw est football game, missouri valley hoops game or what have you......you will not out-perform him in nfl..only chance is to pick spots with favorites and get lucky with few dogs.......spoke my peace, just a tough a$$ day, very frustrating....thats all, g luck everyone

I had NE, but I also had Denver and Detroit.

I'm not going to pass them off as genious picks or anything, but a major component of winning with dogs is the cover when a team has a 10+ point lead, and the defense is not as fired up with the game in the bag, and they all go into the prevent defense (the backdoor cover).

It especially seems to happen with those 7.5-10 point spreads where one team RIGHTLY gets dominated all game, but still has the juice to put the ball in the endzone late (buff is a perfect example).

FWIW, I like the prevent defense, but I think teams go to it too early, and with not a big enough lead. I know NE and TENN blew leads, but I don't think NE went to the prevent, and KC still had time left for that last TD. If they went to the prevent, the clock might have run out on KC.

GB may have played the prevent the whole second half, but it obviously worked for them. Detroit ran out of time. Same with Buffalo.

Sorry you all lost some backdoors, but teams play to win, not cover. That fact alone plays into the underdog's hands when the game is late, and you'll suffer more of those crazy late covers if you bet more favorites than dogs. And, you'll receive more of the late rewards when playing the doggies.

Sorry to tread in your "bad beats" thread, but just thought I'd throw in my $.02 on betting the dogs.
