Mississippi running back Vashon Pearson will not play his senior season after being declared ineligible by the NCAA, coach Ed Orgeron said Wednesday.
``He is no longer on the team,'' Orgeron said in a statement issued by the school.
Pearson led the Rebels in rushing as a junior last season with 807 yards on 158 carries with three touchdowns.
He was listed as a co-starter with Jamal Pittman at the end of spring workouts.
Pearson rushed for 1,441 yards in three seasons with the Rebels.
