MU's Ferguson suspended
COLUMBIA (AP) -- Missouri forward Jeffrey Ferguson was suspended Friday for two games after violating team rules, coach Quin Snyder said.
Ferguson, a 6-foot-10 reserve, will miss today's game (3 p.m., KMIZ-TV) against Colorado and Monday's game against rival Kansas. Ferguson is averaging 2.1 points and 3.1 rebounds a game.
"This comes at a tough time for our team," Snyder said in a brief statement issued late Friday. "That being said, our ultimate goal is to maintain the focus of our team and to get through these next two games until Jeffrey can join us again."
Ferguson's absence leaves the Tigers with only eight scholarship players, including former walk-on guard Ryan Kiernan. Missouri's lone reserve post player will be 6-10 freshman Kevin Young. Najeeb Echols, a 6-7 forward, transferred to Illinois State earlier this month.
