The Cubs come into St. Louis fresh off of being swept by the Milwaukee Brewers. Against the Brewers they managed to put just two runs on the board in the three-game series. They are injury riddled and the players that they do have available are ice cold. Lee, Alou and Sosa, the stars in the line up right now, are extremely cold and Ramirez has been out with a groin injury. Even if Ramirez is back tonight I do not believe his timing at the plate will be back with him yet. The Cubs in their last 5 games are averaging just 1.79 runs per game while the Cardinals are averaging over 5 runs per game. With the offense of the Cubs struggling the way it is unless Maddox throws a gem tonight the Cardinals should be able to come away with the victory.
