LA Dodgers +100

This game is a mismatch bigtime. A battle between two lefties....Advantage LA, who destroys southpaw pitching.

The Dodgers are starting pitcher Kazuhiga Ishi, who has been brilliant so far in the majors. Ishi has not allowed a run in the Majors yet. Ishi has started two games for the Dodgers this year :

11.2 Innings pitched, 0 runs, 4 hits, 6 walks, 15 strikeouts.

One of those games was against Colorado, in which he struck out 10 in just 5.2 Innings pitched. A big reason for this is that Colorado is hitting just .224 vs lefties this year. Look for another solid outing today.

Mike Hampton is going for Colorado today. Hampton is way off form this year. He's started 3 games this year:

0-3, 16 IP, 29 Hits, 11 walks, 10.26 ERA

The bad pitching will be intesified today as the LA Dodgers just simply kill lefty pitching.

So far this year, LA is batting .318 as a team vs left-handed pitching and is averaging 5.3 Runs per game.

Last year was no different, they averaged 5.6 Runs per game vs lefties.

Hampton has never faired well vs the Dodgers. The past 3 years vs LA, Hampton is 0-4 with an 8.23 ERA. He faced them once this year and got rocked for 6 Runs and 10 Hits in just 6 Innings.

LA has beaten Colorado 6 out of the last 7 games.

Hampton is also 0-1 when Mike Dimuro is behind the plate.

Now that Penny is expected to pitch in Florida:

Playing one more:

OVER 8.5 FLORIDA -105 (1 UNIT)

Has alot to do with Home Plate Ump Joe Brinkman.

Brinkmans last 6 games behind the plate have all gone over including the first 3 this year.

Penny struggled in his last start. He gave up 7 earned runs, 7 hits, 5 walks in just 4.2 IP. His control is a little shaky this year so far. Penny has walked 8 in the 13.2 Innings pitched this year.

If the control doesn't get better, Penny will be in trouble, especially with Brinkman behind the Plate. Penny had started 3 games in the past when Brinkman's been the home plate ump and the Florida staff allowed and average of 5.66 runs in those.

Randy Wolf has never had the luxury of pitching with Joe Brinkman calling balls and strikes, and might wish it don't happen again.

Wolf is not a pitcher that will overpower guys. He really relies on hitting his spots and that might be a struggle today with Brinkman back there. Wolf might be forced to get a little more meat of the plate today.

If that's the case, Wolf who has always had problems with the Florida, may struggle again.

Wolf is just a career 1-4 with an 5.90 ERA against the Marlins giving up 39 Hits in just 29 innings.

Last year he had one start vs Florida and got rocked for 10 hits and 6 earned runs in just 4 innings.

Good Luck.
