ever since covers.com went down, my picks have vastly improved...go figure.
maybe analysing ALL those stats is a bad thing?
heh heh heh.
There are some nice games today I see out there that might be worth a shot to look at.
1) taking Philly (+240) over PEDRO.
with Veritek out, and Philly losing the first game, i'd like to see them bounce back in game 2.
2) Taking the METS (leiter)(-175) over TB. TB's getting hot??? don't think so. Hopefully the METS will find some pride and will come back and lay a lambasting on TB. TB is 0-4 at home vs a lefty.
3) SAN DIEGO (+185) over SEATTLE
well, let's put it this way, the streak has to end sometime, B.Jones is a good pitcher and personally, i feel that Freddie G has just been too damn lucky this year not to have been tagged for a loss. But I gues you have to be good to be lucky.
4) houston/texas : OVER 11 (-125)
bottenfield vs helling, enough said.
5) colorado: Astacio (-165) over St.loo
A.benes has a horrible road record and the Rockies seem to be hitting well at home. Look for Pedro to continue Colorado's good pitching at home (did I just say that???)
and my "put me over into the green, just in case my dogs don't come through" pick :
6) SF/OAKLAND : UNDER 9.5
both pitchers (estes/ lidle) have been pitching well of late.
Estes has only given up 2 earned runs in his last 31 innings.
