Where it is real F ing COLD
I don't know if this can classify as a system per say but there are a handful of pitchers who are usually shitty that had good years last year and there is a handful of good pitchers who had down years last year. A lot of times this will correct itself in the following season. I am going to comb the rosters and look this out. You guys can add to this as well and if you do please write a sentence or two.

Now we can review and discuss these pitchers before the season starts and we will play on or against em until the All Star Break. I will make the official list and I will track em and list the plays and keep track of the record in this thread.

As a footnote.. Some of these guys will pitch the same way they did last year so I must keep an eye on this as well.

First player I will put on the list..

Nick Blackburn SP Minnesota
No certainty that he will be in the starting rotation but the guy had eras around 4 in 08 and 09. Then last year he was 5.42. Come to find out he was hurt and kept his mouth shut. His arm was surgically cleaned out this year and I expect him to back to 4.00 numbers.

R.A Dickey SP NY METS

Guy had a 2.84 era last year and his career era still is 4.70. Just can't believe he will have the same type of year this year.
One thing I will say about RA is that he did spend a lot of time with Tim Wakefield and maybe he learned how to control the knuckler.

On a side note RA Dickey is a real nice guy as far as I can tell. He always signs autographs, he was the only one signing autographs for either teams in Milwaukee when he was with the Twins but at any rate I am going to be playing against him.

Just one thing I wanted to add about systems. Without factoring the line into the system (actually creating a line for the game), you will lose.

That being said, I don't think this is a good idea at all. You could look up some of the stats to see which pitchers were more lucky or less lucky than they should have been and go from there. That would help you a little more in my opinion.

Yes I will definitely be putting my own line on these games. We will see what happens but I usually do good in baseball and use a lot of these. Have to see how the teams play out but we will see what happens.

SP Carlos Silva Cubs

No guarantee that he will be in the starting rotation but this guy started on fire last year but had a terrible end of the year.

I look for this guy to get shelled most of the time. He has a straight fastball and relies on sinkers to get people out. Now that is probably why he started out to a good year last year.. If he keeps the ball on the ground he can pitch in Wrigley..

Remember the price is going to have to be right when I make these plays.

I would look to play against J. Sanchez. His whip is high and his stranded rate was high. he got out of a lot of jams last year with double plays and k's. i think his era will be around 3.9 or 4.0 this year and not 3.0 like last year
