I was giving this a second thought. Take this into consideration. What if Buffalo decides to rush only 1 or 2 and maybe even 0 defensive lineman and using 2 or 3 linebackers and 8 or 9 defensive backs?

Dallas' linemen could not release downfield and with only 7 seconds to go with that many DB's could have effectively guarded the sidelines. This would have resulted in the either an incomplete pass, the clock expiring or the receiver tackled before going out of bounds.

I know this would have been a quick and counterintuitive decision for the Bills but I think it would have worked.

Either way that was a good football game.

Coaching by Buffalo was horrible the whole 4th quarter. They were just hoping time would run out before Dallas could come back.

They should have ran the ball on the 3rd and goal and taken the FG. It would have made everything else mute.

They are not a good team and were lucky to even have a chance to win

that's too intelligent for moron's who coach football (yet i'm told over and over and over how intellectual football is and how much strategy there is).

how hard is it to rush 2 or 3 while dropping 8-9 into coverage and having 2-3 db's on each side of the field at the 5 + 10 + 15 yard mark playing at the sidelines with the others over the middle to prevent a td (there's only 7 seconds left, let them complete a pass and dont tackle them immediately...game over.

nope

let's play our base defense and watch them complete a wide open, 8 yard out, right at the sidelines with nobody around......hey., we didnt give up the touchdown!

great post

great post

how bout the fact NO ONE was even near crayton....NO ONE. Where Buffalo lost that game was on 3rd down like you said why not run it and kick the FG.

absolutely - 7 seconds does not afford you more than a 10 yard out yet all the db's we're beyond that point when crayton caught the ball.

and youre right about the horrible coaching throughout the 4th. I really despise conservative coaching but i think if they just take the fg on the possession edwards threw the INT that they win the game.

I thought overall it would be very odd/interesting to see 0 defensive linemen providing a pass rush yet a very conceivable and possibly very effective option in that situation.

We will never know.

jauron blew this game. on 3rd and 8 deep in dallas territory late in game he should have ran the ball and kicked the fg. instead w/a rooking qb and a very good defense they decide to throw the ball and sure enough it was deflected and intercepted.
if they were playing a bad defense i may understand it,but not a good defense.he needs to be fired.i like jauron but he is not a good hc
