Well this just seems like one of those bets that just jumps out at ya

Ya know.......one that screams value


I found Philly at $1.67 on the MoneyLine...........went gangbusters


bet 2 grand on it...........so for those Canadians out there....cheer for me!


so.......let's do the math shall we:

2000 bucks bet x $1.67 =$3340

that seems pretty good to me


and unlike most people on this forum 2000 bucks is a lot of money to me.........I'm not one of those guys who puts 5 grand on 5 or 6 games a week!


so just a couple of cheers for me would be nice..........

I got them at -150.....which works out to $1.67


Although now I see I could have got them at -135 ($1.74)



oh well.............not putting any more on em.......2 grand is plenty

What he is saying is that +1.67 is the money you get back COUNTING the original money you laid out.

ie. bet $1000.00

if the odds are -1.5 (for the favorite) then its easiest to use a multiplier which is found by dividing 1.0 by the minus number;
1 / 1.5 = .66667

to find out how much you win, multiply $1000.00 by .667 which equals $667.00

to find out how much you GET BACK, multiply $1000.00 by 1.667
which equals $1667.00 total return.

Therefore the money he was talking about winning was not profit, but total return.
