YTD: 43-39-1
The slow steady climb back down to .500 is nearly complete......lost on five straight posted plays.....fade accordingly.
SEMO -2, -120 over Murray State......need a slump buster? Well, go down to the Ohio Valley where we have one of the league's upstarts hosting a perennial conference power. I'm siding with the upstart tonight. The Redmen actually had things going last year before Michael Rembert, their top front court players went down with a knee injury. They prompty lost six of seven and fell totally out of the race. Well, he's back this year, but plays a little less than 20 minutes a game. However, the front court presence has been boosted big time by a big 6-10 freshmen Bogan, Calvin Williams , a transfer from Colorado, and Jaysen Herring, a juco kid who actually leads the team in scoring. SEMO is deep with 11 guys plugging more than 10 minutes a game, 10 of whom see the court for than 17 a game.
SEMO has a clear front court edge tonight. Backcourt is even. Neither teams has great defensive numbers, but SEMO carries the better offense and hits the glass better. Both have six OVC games under their belt and against similar foes within that slate, SEMO is 5-0, Murray is 2-3. SEMO is 6-0 SU in the league, 5-1 ATS and has covered all four of its lined home games. Murray is just 1-5 ATS on the road and failed in each of their last four stabs as a puppy. Another nugget: Murray is 7-19-1 vs teams w/ a .600 or better winning percentage. SEMO is 11-5 this year.
While recent trends show this is an underdog series, they also show that Murray has only two covers in their last 11 with SEMO. Those cancel each other out.
SEMO looks like a top-3 team in the OVC and looks like they will be contending all season. They'll get a huge statement win tonight at home.
Good luck!!!
