Chicago (Ritchie) @ Boston (Lowe)

Well I am going to be backing the home town team here fresh off a sweep of the Mariners and sending a pitcher that is having a very impressive year.

The White Sox send out Todd Ritchie who has been pretty solid since coming over from the Pirates he has a 3-4 record but has pitched very well with an ERA of 3.32 and a WHIP of 1.39 this is his first start against the Red Sox.

Boston counters with Derek Lowe who has been solid as a rock this year he is 6-1 with a very solid ERA of 2.16 and a very impressive WHIP of 2.16 and pitches even better at home where his ERA drops to 1.45 with a WHIP of 0.677 in 31 innings at home he has 23 strike outs and just 5 walks and has yet to give up a home run, this is his first trip to the hill against the White Sox.

The White sox are 9-13 on the road while scoring an average of 4.8 runs a game with a team batting average of .255 and an on base percentage of .340 while allowing their opponents to score 6 runs a game and letting them hit .285 with an OBP of .405 while the bullpen has been shaky on the road with an ERA of 6.52 and a WHIP of 1.812 giving up 11 home runs.

Boston is 23-9 against right handed starters scoring an average of 6.2 runs a game while batting .307 with an on base percentage of .411 while allowing the opposition to score 4.1 runs a game while keeping them to a batting average of just .237 and an OBP of .317, the bullpen has an ERA of 4.13 on the year with a WHIP of 1.239.

Boston is 6-3 in the last 9 meetings in Bean Town, and are 2-0 as a home favorite of -150 to -175. They are hitting the ball much better lately with a team batting average of .286 against righties in their last 10 games while the White Sox are struggling with an average of just .192 against right hand starters and face a pitcher who looks like he is on a mission, so I will take my chances with Boston and Lowe at a very reasonable price in my opinion.

Playing Boston -154

RBI,

I am not trying to be a smartass.....but the RSox didnt sweep the Mariners. The Mariners are my squad so I am just covering for them. They won 6-3 in Boston on Friday night. I love your writeups, they have won me a good share of $$$. Thanks and good luck....I like Boston today too.
