YTD 92-90 [+0.84]
2nd Half 14-15 (-2.65)
Sun 0-5 (-5.83)
:lol2
Battered and beaten. Down and almost out. This weary soldier marches on.........
SAN DIEGO PADRES (-147) I've bragged him up before, and I will do it some more.....Jake Peavy is the real deal. He is 5-2 in his career versus the Giants, and this year is 2-0, while only giving up one ER in 21 IP against them. On the other hand, Reuter has been rocked three times already this year by the Padre line-up, going 0-2 with a 7.07 ERA. The Padres are also playing great baseball right now and I'm not entirely sold on these Giants. Going to play this one twice (2.94/2).
PHILLIES / MARLINS under 8 (-121) Kevin Millwood has been dynamite since his rest for the All Star Game, going 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA since that time. Burnett has struggled this year, but carries a home ERA of 2.28, and I like the fact that the Marlins don't seem to like scoring runs for him. Hell, who's kidding who? I don't think the damn Marlins could score runs even if they DID want to.....
TORONTO BLUE JAYS (+194) Quit laughing guys....I'm being serious here. :shrug: I wish I knew a bit more about this Sean Douglass, but I can't say as I do, other than he got brought up from Syracuse on the weekend and is now being thrown into the fire to face the Yanks. However, certain things I like in this spot: the Yanks could be in a prime situation for a let-down after facing the rival Red Sox this weekend; the Yanks were still playing ball in Beantown last night when the Jays could have been enjoying the comfort of their homes; Toronto hit Vasquez pretty hard the last time they met him, and should he get in trouble again the Yankee bullpen could be tired after the weekend the bats had in Boston.
YANKEES / BLUE JAYS over 10 (-101) I am throwing all my eggs in one basket here and playing both this game and the previous one on the premise that Toronto is going to touch up Vasquez and the Yankee pen a little bit. If the Jays reach 5 runs, I have the first bet hedged, and worst case scenario, this Douglass kid gets lit up, and the over should again hedge the earlier bet. (Well, I guess 1-0 Yankees again would be the worst case scenario, but I don't think thats an option here....
)
Good Luck tonight Guys, and Happy :cursin: Monday.
