Holiday Bowl

minnesota (+8.5) 3 units.
minnesota (ML) 1 unit to win 2.8. i'm probably overthinking this one. if not for the suspensions and the threatened boycott, i would have loved wazzou in this game. but all that crap makes it WAY too easy to take the cougars now. i have a strange feeling that minnesota hangs in this game. and maybe even wins. the last time minnesota played a mike leach-coached team, they had a 31-point lead in the 3rd quarter (which they completely blew and ended up losing in OT). i have a hard time picturing another 44-41 game, but something is telling me that's going to happen.

over (61) 2 units.

Like the Over a lot... think Minny will be playing catch up quickly, and Wa St doesn't ever really slow down ... just pass pass pass

Minnesota's admin did take a stand for "integrity" and all that, and I agree it seems wayyy too easy to take Wash St... but unless they're just totally disinterested, Wash St will show Minn a style of offense and level of team speed at skill positions they're really not used to at all... and cannot have had any realistic practices against... advantage Wash St imo

GL on the OVER!! Im thinkin more like, Wash St 48-27... which would still work on that total!

Cactus Bowl

baylor (+7) 3 units.
baylor (ML) 2 units to win 4.8. mostly a gut play. and i simply don't think boise is as good as they were back in the day when it felt like they could compete with anyone. back then they were a very physical team. this year, they allowed 180 yards rushing per game. baylor will be able to exploit that. as long as they can keep it close, they're going to keep pounding away on the ground.

over (69) 2 units. first team to 40 wins.

yeah, i agree that on paper wazzou should blow them out. and up until a few days ago i planned on hammering the coogs. but something kept telling me that minny is going to somehow keep it close.

hell, it won't be the first time i've ever been wrong. not even the first time today.

I'm feeling the same way about the holiday bowl smitty, I think the gophers make it a shootout because of their secondary issues. I ended up playing minn tt over 27. minny has gone over 27 8 times out of 12, only falling short @ penn st, @ Nebraska, @ Wisconsin and at home against iowa. I admit I don't know the exact stats, but I bet they're all better defensively than than the cougars. someone correct me if im wrong.
