Monday Game vs. Akron Postponed

ATHENS, Ohio -- Heavy snowfall and travel restrictions in southeast Ohio have forced the postponement of Monday night's Mid-American Conference basketball game between Ohio and Akron. Both universities will work with the Mid-American Conference office to set a make-up date.
The game, a rematch of the Bobcats' 112-104 four-overtime victory on Jan. 8, was scheduled for 8 p.m. at the James Rhodes Arena. Fox Sports Ohio was to broadcast the contest.
The Bobcats were scheduled to leave campus at 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon, but the game was called before their departure. Athens County declared a level three emergency shortly before noon, meaning roads were closed to all but emergency vehicles.
The university has already announced cancellation of classes and the closing of offices for Monday.
Ohio willl return to the action Wednesday night when it hosts Eastern Michigan at 7 p.m. at The Convo. For ticket information, call the ticket office at 1-800-575-CATS.
