wow..I just deleted on purpose about 4-6 paragraphs about yesterday posts .because it would cause about 20 responses and all I really care about is TCU,Baylor,etc...

TCU +7.5 over West Vir now +8 ***
Even though TCU lost their pt gd in Fisher they still have good gd play...watched the TCU-Texas game...Jamie gave Shaka a lesson...his offense and great passing vs the Tex defense..the def play of Vlad on Bamba.. WV is still in a slump..very talented esp on def...WV defense has to cause turnovers with all their pressure.. But Ok St handled them beating them 88-85...at WV...I think the TCU gds are better and the TCU offense can score...they lead the B-12 in 3 pt shooting...but ball movement vs WV is the key..and TCU has the best ball movement of aay team in the conf...and are ranked in the top 20? in offense in the country...TCU beat WV 82-73 and Fisher was out that game...think this is close game...I'll grab the points..

Baylor +2.5 over Texas ***
Was at the last game sitting in row 5 in Waco a few weeks ago...it was a close game [think 2 pts} at the half..then the Bears woke up...just killed Texas in every facet of the game...final score 69-60..BU had lost 5 or 6 games and then the Bears have won 3 in a row just knocking off Kansas by 16..BU has Acuil to match up with Bamba..a big frontline..but the

gds are outstanding.. Lecomte is a good pt gd..can pass, dribble and shoot...but Lindsay and McClure are tough...inside they also have Matson,Clark at 6'8 and 6'9.. Clark is going to be a monster..he is only a freshman...saw Texas lose to K-St and watched them on TV vs TCU...other then Bamba no one is playing well.. Oset and Roach have played terrible... Coleman the fr pt gd is so inconsistent ..they are ranked high on defense in the country...no way.. Bamba saves them..they can't hit open 3's and the FT's are
unreal.. think the Longhorns are going to have a tough time tonite..think the wrong team is favored..doglover.. will stop by and see you..with some of my racquetball buddies tonite..

Canisius -6 over Fairfield **
Griffs are 11-2 in the MAAC...unreal pre-season 8th...they have won 4 str..beat Quinn by 7 the other nite with the line at -8...up 62-48 with the ball under 3 minutes...and they lose the cover...damn...Stags are all over the place...they win 3 in a row and get beat by Niagara..they have the top scorer in the MAAC in Nelson but they can't play defense...rank 307th....with Reese and Crumpton Stags could be in big trouble...

Siena +7.5 over Iona *
I am going to take the Saints..they are terrible..lost 5 of 6 are 7-19 overall...they avg 67 pts a game and give up 74...but at home they beat Peter by 2,Marist by 3,and upset Canisius by 3...Iona beat them by 71-69 at Iona...so although Iona could win by 30 I'm backing the saints at home...I have inside info that the team priest of Siena is going to have a service in the locker room before the game giving out ash 's 2 days before Ash Wed...I know I'm bad at keeping my overall record daily here but Siena is 12 -0 ats 3 days before ash wed...some of you guys can look that one up...might be wrong ,, it could be 11-1...

Bucknell -9.5 over Colgate ***
Colgate has won 6 of 7...flying high..playing great ..but Bisons are a different breed ...Bisons have all 5 returning starters back...they has won 10 in a row until the OT loss to Lehigh...boy that had to wake them up...any angry Bison...Buck already beat Colgate 63-51 at there place...awhile back...double digit win at home..

yest
won
Cinncy +4****
Smoo under 59 pts +2**
Penn St +2 **

lost Wagner -2 **

total 3-1 +6*'s

Heleanth..you made 2 comments about " nice not having the vig"...do you want me to include the vig when I add up my scores...
not sure what you mean??
do I take a *'box off the total +6 because I lost the Wagner game...so its +5*'s...not sure how to do that.. I know baseball does that and its confusing as anything..let me know what you mean and how do I do that...

Box, will be rooting for the Horns, but I don't see any way they can beat Baylor. Horns have lost the last 5 in a row to the Bears and last 7 of 9. Closed two teasers with the Bears!!! See you at the game, DL.

I agree Doglover....but you and I are to close to the Longhorns..we know them pretty good...the only difference is you are a graduate of Texas...shame on you....did your wife graduate from there...double shame....lol I won a lot of money playing against my North Texas in football and hoops...

think Baylor front line is to athletic for Bamba and co.. and Oset and Roach played lust like they did vs K-St...Bear gds are tough... see you at the game...

Box, I didn't mean to disrespect you. It was just a musing. I use a local, so everything is 110-100. I was simply thinking that it would be nice to not pay the vig.

That said, I don't think one's record is accurately represented without including the vig.

Englishman is right. I don't contribute much around here, especially compared to you and others. I read your posts and enjoy your recaps and commentary. You can keep your record, or not, any way you want. I just wish I didn't have to pay the vig!!!

Thanks for posting and I apologise for starting problems.:toast:

Not a Newbie

Not a Newbie

Been following Box and H'keye for several years.

After Cincy yesterday had to finally register and comment.

Insight on SMU depth issues was off the charts. Was it available somewhere on line? Maybe. I just don't have the time to find it. Even the tv announcers were discussing it, and mid 2nd half stated that "this contest isn't really fair to SMU". Also some extended camera time of the team manager entering the game.

TT U 58 1/2 was solid for a couple of units, but Cincy minus 7 (-120) was a cakewalk - and nailed it twice more in-game at - 9 1/2 and - 11 1/2.

Much appreciated!

Heleanth, classy response by you too sir. Box's picks don't always win (let me know if u find someone that does lol) but usually the best write-ups by a trained eye...
which in the longg run, gives me a little more insight as the season progresses and I think we all appreciate it and him.
I also usually do better simply reading and spot-tailing others than posting.. I'm often just getting my mind straight on my plays as the games near tipoff

so very limited time to put in the explanations behind the picks anyway...

Re: the 10% vig...
not sure how big/small your wagers are...
nor how many bets/wk you put in w/your local...

But

You may be able to sway him to 5%.. possibly.. maybe lol
in the office I worked at, our BIGger players.. or high volume players that were long-term clients were sometimes given 5% lines, to encourage them to use our office, instead of setting up offshore somewhere

may not help in your case (as it doesn't help in mine lol) but if your guy thinks you're gonna leave him... he might cut u some slack on da juice

can't hurt to ask :D

GL on your plays!

same as tcu...

If Shawn Olden is unable to go again, the lineup has contracted even more since that last game. WVU has much greater depth, so guys like A Rob who play basically all 40 minutes will have to keep the focus all game.

Thanks for the advice, LOB! My bookie is one of my best friends. I don?t bet much and I think he takes my bets more or less as a favor to me during basketball season, since he is mostly busy only during football season. I text him all my bets and he trusts me take my lines off of scoreandodds.com. I think he?d tell me to look elsewhere if I asked him for 5%. Thanks, though. That is a good idea.:toast:
