Terryray,

I like your signature line.

Newman was playing Fast Eddie Felson in that movie.

mlb.com has the info earliest, but are sometimes wrong. One out of 15 or so, I'd say.

But I've noticed the M. Hirshbeck and crew info is more wrong than most.

I usually confirm with Yahoo sports before gametime, but they were wrong today! that is very rare.

Never seen sportsnetwork wrong, but today they didn't post until nearly first pitch out.

It is a good quote Pat, thanks.. I never saw the film, but it is a good movie name.

Newman was terrific in that b/w pool shark movie with Gleason playing Minnesota Fats.

They say Newman is very fine in that movie that just came out.

Terryray,

He played a young Fast Eddie when Fats took him apart in the first movie.

If you haven't seen Color of Money, by all means rent it. It's a kick. He plays an older Fast Eddie taking a young hot shot (Tom Cruise) under his wing to teach him the tricks of the trade.

Haven't seen the new one, but Newman always puts out good stuff.

Terry, I thought it odd that Hirshbeck was listed when Reynolds was next in the rotation but I've seen some really screwy things done to rotations this year. The only good thing about Reynolds tonight is that he is following Hollowell in the rotation. The last six games, who ever follows Hollowell goes opposite him. He went over the last game he did. We'll see. Good luck

wow! thanks for that good info gsp. learning all the time. I wondered if the weird ump movements I've seen this season were out of the ordinary...

Yeah, Bohawk, "mini IE". I wonder how IE can gather all that info! I've looked at some of his sources, websites like baseballprospectus, and seen tons of good info at them. The time to sort thru it all.....

that's what I contribute, info when I can. I don't post my plays much, let alone reasonings--that might get embarassing! I'm pretty ignorant of baseball, just learning here. Heard term "infield fly rule" and gotta look that one up, for example.

So I'm surprised as most that my POD record is so good. I shoulda put more on them......

as always thanks. saw the hirschbeck switcharoo too-- anyway, cant have too much info, right?? i dont wager enough cash to feel comfortable posting my plays all the time, but info cant hurt... anyway your efforts are much appreciated and i too am awaiting the droppage of the puck which makes absolutely no sense b/c i played baseball in college and never played hock, but now i'm hooked on that sport- later :)

always surprised when i see fossum throw in the bigs, used to go see a few games when he played at a&m in 98 and 99, saw a good one in waco in 99 with fossum starting against jason jennings, i knew jennnings had some good stuff but never in my wildest dreams did i think fossum would be up so quickly, goes to show what i know

Many thanks Wigs:)

It is funny and inexplicable how some of us take to a game we never would have figured to.

and lots of punters post plays when they aren't wagering any money on them, 'cause only then do they do real well!!

but getting info is always fun, educational and helpful to a board that helps one so much.
