With Manhattan's 2OT loss to Iona today, the Stags are tied for first in the MAAC if they can beat Rider in Bridgeport on Monday afternoon. This game will be televised on MSG.

Weather permitting, I'll be flying to Vegas at the time of this game so I won't see it, but I like Fairfield's chances to cover.

Fairfield was dominant in their first game at Lawrenceville; Rider had no answer for the combination of Gai and Garcia inside. Fairfield was up by 16 with 15 minutes to go, but Rider got a lot of foul calls to go their way and they were able to stay in the game, losing only by 7. Rider was 10-10 from the line once Fairfield went into the double penalty.

Rider beat Iona last time out; but that was a different Iona team than the one that beat Manhattan tonite. In that game Iona only shot 36% from the field and was outrebounded by Rider 41-20.

After a win Rider is 2-6 ATS.

Fairfield is definitely the better team here, and with the motivation to go into a tie with Manhattan for first in the MAAC and with the home refs, this should be a double digit win for the Stags.

Also played Marist -2.5. The Red Foxes gave up a 15 point lead to lose to St. Peters within the last week in NJ. Lots of TOs and poor shooting hurt them.

Marist then played a decent game vs a good Fairfield team on this same Bridgeport court just 3 days ago and they should get more fans here from Poughkeepsie than S-P will get from Jersey City.

Early line for this game was -5 which is IMO a better line.

superbook,to bad you didn't get out in time.I'm an hour above you and we have a windchill of -7,winds at 20 MPH,and snow coming down so hard.Damn.I shoveled to my car, cleaned it off, drove 2 blocks to my deli to buy the paper and coffee.B.S.'ed there for 10 minuts with my boys.Got back in my car and where I shoveled to get out was gone.Snow filled it up.
We are suspposed to get 20-24 inches.Already have 16 inches on the ground from the past storms. No place to shovel the snow.
No way will there be a game today or tonite in Fairfield.Weather channel is saying this could be the worst storm in history.

I like Fairfield too.I watched the Iona-Manhattan game.Exactly what I feared happened. The Iona gds dominated and dictated the game.Solivar and McCullough play like juniors. It was an exciting game with the 2 OT's.I played it lightly.Mahattan's 2 frosh pt gds are weak. That will be there demise.Loy -Md covered so I split.Like Marist today but game will be cancelled.
Talked to my daughter last nite.It was 63 in Austin.I'll think of that all day.Only good thing out of all this snow is there is no school.Just time to shovel.

I agree but if they're going to cancel these games they better announce it soon. Tripleheader at Harbor Yards involves six teams and team/fans from Jersey will be leaving soon for the 1:30 start. Complicated because it involves MSG schedule; I'm sure MAAC hates to lose the coverage.

Really pissed I have to cancel Vegas trip; next flight out is Wednesday. Was really looking forward it.

Saw your article...good stuff. I made a few calls to S-P etc and was told the same thing.

MAAC doesn't get much TV coverage...they'd probably insist on playing these games even if the poison gas cloud was floating over Manhattan. (just duct tape the windows and turn on MSG).

How strong do you feel about Marist? Its not really a home game for them. Any more insight on these 2 teams would be appreciated. Thanks.

No question this is a neutral court; only fans in the stands will be parents of the Fairfield players.

I like Marist but just an average play.

At work I check the line movements and posts here about twice an hour. When I saw Fairfield at -7.5 I snatched it up. So I check half an hour later and see that Fairfield is now-6.5 ?!?!?!?!?

Any word on why this lined up has moved back down.

Jon:
I read on another site that the Marist game will be played but the Fairfield game is cancelled? Do you have any update on this situation? Piggybacked you on this boring snowy day because I am ready to watch paint dry at this point so I had to have some action today, hope it dosen't cost me. Good luck to us today, going to try and dig my car out so eventually I can leave the house again! Thanks for all your posts they are always interesting and informative.

I shoveled a path for my dog to dump outside and low and behold he just took a dump on the living room floor. My fair weather friend.
I've been out shoveling since 9 am . . .it's now 2:30 and my back is about broke. We got somewhere in the neighborhood of 36 inches. Just west of me is reporting they got 52 inches. 36 is a lot. 52 is like fold the friggin' tent time. Board up the doors and get out of Dodge. I couldn't get out my back door without having a shovel in my hand. There is about 4 feet blown up against it. Luckily, the door opens in.

A fun day in The Burg. :)

I'm ready for a winning day in hoops. Is the concensus on Fairfield?

I don't even think the parents showed up; there are maybe 5-6 people in the stands. Basically it's a made-for-TV event.
