Miguel Tejada left Saturday's game with a sore knee/hamstring
and was forced into the DH role yesterday, going 0-for-3 and
ending his 14-game hitting streak. There is no doubt that he will
play, but the soreness may affect his hitting and he forces his
manager to use a weak bat in the SS slot if Tejada cannot take the
field. Leadoff man Brian Roberts is out with a groin injury. He is a
huge part of the Baltimore offense and it won't score as many runs
without him setting the table. Corey Patterson was in the leadoff
spot yesterday, but he has been notoriously disappointing in that
role through out his career with the Cubs. DH Javy Lopez will also
miss this game with a back injury. With the Orioles diminished
offense and their 1-6, -$605 record versus lefties thus far, we see
a nice oppotunity to back Ted Lilly, who has allowed just 5 ER in
his last three starts and earned the victory over the O's in his last
appearance. The Blue Jays also tagged Erik Bedard for 10 hits and
5 ER in that same game.
