To fade or not to fade...His numbers are great as usual except the one category that really counts...wins and losses. Johan Santana is only 11-7 on the year so it makes sense to find opportunities to fade this guy at high prices. Howeve, the guy is just pitching fantastic as of late and has a great record on the road this year. In ten games on the road this year he is 7-2 and the Twins are 7-3 when he starts. It will take a high winning % like that to make any money with his high prices. Todays price of -140 is reasonable in my book for someone who is usually closer to
-210. Marcum on the other hand has a struggled just a bit in his last three starts going 1-2 and averaging 5.1 innings/start. Keep in mind though that Toronto has a quality bullpen so that isn't the worst thing in the world. I like to back good pitchers and think this is a good spot to do so.
Best bet: Minnesota -140
Cincy struggles against Lefty starters...come to think of it, they struggle against righties too so what the hell
Milwaukee is a different team on the road. They are seven games under .500 They have not been hitting well as of late (.239 last seven) and think that continues tonight against a tough Harang.
Harang has solid numbers and is really tough at home. In ten starts at home he is 5-1 and the Reds are 7-3 when he starts. (3-0 the last three) Tough to bet on the Reds except for when Harang is on the bump.
Capuano has really struggled lately. Last three he is 0-1 and the Brew Crew is 0-3. 8.22 ERA and 1.69 WHIP.:scared
Best Bet: Cincy -122
By the way...In the Harangs starts this year the over is 13-7 (6-3 at home) that coupled with a struggling Capuano could make for a nice over play. The number is currently 9.
Minnesota -140
Cincy -122
Good Luck everyone.
