Ray, You seem to do quite well when it comes to college hoops. The NBA, however IMO is flat out the toughest game to handicap. I doubt there is a single person here who could claim a record better than 50% over an NBA season. It is utterly unpredictable.

Don't know about you guys, but personally I think baseball is much harder to handicap.

I love the Minny pick. I was on it myself, but seeing Raymond on it makes it better.

may be for you raymond. I personally enjoy capping baseball, but I certainly find it tougher than my other sports.

Sometimes, it feels like flipping a coin is more likely to get you a winner than weighing up the two teams.

But then, I have seen your baseball picks, and you do very well. You should post what you feel is important to a baseball handicapper, teach us all a thing or two.

Raymond, I completely agree with you about baseball, it is by far my best sport handicapping. I can't wait to get season going. Most books deal baseball to keep clients until football. Although I'm sure they do ok because many people just don't understand how to bet the National pastime.

Good luck, looking forward to hard ball!

Not looking to start anything, dnuggets. It's obvious there are some great cappers in this forum. My only point was I doubt they're making a living strictly in the NBA. 52% would be excellent.

Good job raymond....

Im at 64.6% this year and 65.6% last year so to say that 52% is great is strange to me. I know of 10 guys either friends or guys i follow who hit about or over 60% so its not as rare as you might think. As far as hard to cap the books flat out tell you what you can and can not win out by there numbers....

the number one sport they say that is the hardest to cap is football and also makes books more money than any other sport.

the next sport is basketball, its easier to cap than hockey but theres not as much "stupid" money on hockey because few follow enough to bet on it including me.

and by a long shot the sport thats the easiest to cap and the books will flat out tell you most of them lose money on is baseball. very little "stupid" money in baseball, basically most guys who put any real money on baseball bet it everyday and no other sport is easier to beat strictly by analyzing numbers. Numbers in the nba are almost meaningless except a few on rare occasions, baseball is a game that can be beaten strictly by the numbers.

dnuggets, I agree baseball gives the book more fits than other sports. Your NBA hit rate is quite commendable. I keep telling myself to quit the NBA, but I always seem to find a so-called lock now and then -- which more than half the time loses! keep up the good work. College BB & FB have been rather good to me -- I just need to be disciplined enough to stay away from the NBA and NFL.
