Cleveland looked pathetic last nite, that's all I have to say about that.:gf:

Just one game today so far.........

Orioles+180x2 (Lopez/Castillo)
Lopez has looked good this season, 2-0, 2.21 ERA, beating BoSox in his first start, even though he had already pitched against them earlier in the year for 4 innings in relief.
"Rodrigo did a great job. He baffled me all day," said Boston's Johnny Damon, who went 0-for-3 against Lopez. "He baffled other guys, too."
Orioles offense is HOT, avg 6.33 RPG while winning 7 of last 9. Career batting avg of O's vs Castillo?

Conine .380, 4HR 11RBI
Segui .400
Fordyce .333
Bordick .333
Cordova .364

Should Lopez falter, the O's bullpen has stranded 27 of 34 inherited runners while accumulating a respectable ERA of 3.03.
Castillo in his 1st start vs O's gave up 1H, 1ER in 6IP, but in his 2nd time around facing the O's gave up 6H, 5ER, in 3.1IP.

Baltimore looks like a live dog here at +180

GOOD LUCK TODAY!!!:Yep:

Lopez pitches in for surging O's
He holds down Red Sox in first start for Orioles; 5-3 win is 4th in 5 games

Just three months removed from his days pitching for the Culiacan Tomato Growers, Orioles starter Rodrigo Lopez received an ovation last night he won't soon forget.

When Lopez left the mound in the sixth inning with a two-run lead against the first-place Boston Red Sox, he awkwardly doffed his cap for the crowd of 29,004 at Camden Yards.

Three innings later, Lopez watched from the dugout as Orioles reliever Jorge Julio put the finishing touches on a 5-3 victory.

For Lopez, it was his first win as a major-league starter. For the Orioles, it was their fourth win in their past five games. After winning the first two games of this series, they'll go for a sweep today against Red Sox ace Pedro Martinez.

"All your dreams are based on the big leagues," said Lopez, who hails from Tlalnepantla, Mexico. "And to have an ovation from a big-league crowd is great. Nothing can compare to that. There's nothing close."

The Orioles signed Lopez as a minor-league free agent this off-season, grabbing him before he turned heads in January at the Caribbean Series. He went 10-2 with a 2.49 ERA for the Tomato Growers of the Mexican Winter League and won all five of his decisions in the postseason.

Lopez (2-0) had been brilliant in five appearances out of the bullpen. With Josh Towers struggling in his first three starts, the team was quick to move Lopez into the starting rotation.

It wasn't completely new for Lopez. He made six starts for the San Diego Padres two years ago but never earned a victory and posted an 8.76 ERA. Last year, he missed two months with a shoulder injury and spent the rest of the season in the minor leagues.

So Lopez, 26, had to prove himself in Mexico to get here, which made his first big-league start since June 13, 2000, all the more sweet. Lopez held the Red Sox to two runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings.

"The kid may have the best smile in America," said Orioles manager Mike Hargrove, who took the ball from Lopez with one out in the sixth inning. "And his slider isn't bad, either."

Lopez wasn't perfect. The Red Sox had one hit against him in every inning he pitched, but he made big pitches when he had to, keeping Boston hitless in four at-bats with runners in scoring position.

FYI

FYI

Segui, listed above at .400 against Castillo, is day to day with a hand(?) injury. Don't know if he's in the line-up tonight.

O's got a lot of wood on the ball against Castillo last week. They scored at least a run in the first 5 innings, and scored again in the 7th. Even bordick roped a triple off him. Gill took him deep. He hit two dingers that game, but I don't know if they were both off Castillo.

O's still don't look like a good team to me, but they've won 3 straight series, and +180 is probably inflated because the Sox are playing well, too.

GL. Maybe I'll get on this one too.

Thanks for the input, guys. My capping method is far from being perfect, and sure could use any help I can get. I do believe there's "value" in +180. Will be home from work in a few hours to look at the rest, but like TTM's thread, the UNDER is worth a look, too.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Tigers-124x3 (Weaver/Suppan) @WWTS
Going with the hot vs cold theory. Detroit has won 5 of 6 at home, 4 of their last 5 overall, and are 7-5 since the dreadful 0-11 start. 1st 5 batters for Detroit all batting over .300. Simon and Halter bat over .400 lifetime vs Suppan. KC 2-7 on recent home stand, swept by Boston and Baltimore, as the Tony Muser death watch begins. It's only a matter of time before he gets canned and the Royals will probably be sleepwalking their way through games until the front office makes some changes. Weaver at 1-4 really has not pitched bad, rather is more of a victim of lack of run support. He has not given up more than 4ER in all his starts, and is coming off of a shutout. Couple that with the hot Detroit bats, this makes the Tigers a good play at a cheap price.

GOOD LUCK Tonite!!!:jump:
