April's best and worst pitchers

Hey batter, batter... swing batter, batter.

Just like that, the 2003 major League Baseball season is upon us and with it comes our annual trek inside the world of 'good month' and 'bad month' pitchers.

Like the weather, pitchers also have good months and bad months. That's evidenced by their performance in team starts (games won or lost by their team in games started by a pitcher) over the years.

With special thanks and assistance from baseball handicapping colleague extraordinare Tom Freese [link edited by admin]each and every month this season we'll present the pitchers who have performed above or below the norm in their good months and bad months in games from 2000-2002.

Now, let's take a look at April.

lefties - righties matchup are very important some pitcher pitch better
at night games some better at days games< some teams hit better at nite vs righties some better vs lefties at home at nite! there alot of factors in capping bases, going to be fun , i am ready

look for hot teams and look at cold team
look at the bullpens look at road and home teams

look at pitchers last three starts there era there pitch counts looks at umps
look at avg hits and walks per 9 inn

this want you need to have the edge ! which teams are profitable at home or on the road, vs, lefthanders or vs, righthanders, in day games or in night games.

Keep in mind some of the winningest teams in the major leagues are a terrible betting proposition because the lines are so high.

They may have a great won/lost record and be leading the league in the standings, but if you bet on them consistently you'll LOSE MONEY.

On the other hand, some teams that can barely manage a .500 record are fantastic gambling choices, because they're heavy underdogs whenever they take the field.

It's the same thing with starting pitchers. Big name starters are no bargain when you're have to lay 2 to 1 whenever they take the mound. But a relatively obscure hurler with a 8-8 record can be great to bet on if he's catching a fat underdog price in every start.

This is exactly the type of information you need to avoid a losing season.

Raymond, As you can see, I'm a new but what i'm really new at is Baseball!

I tried a little bit last year and did o.k but i would just bet straight up.

Can you tell me what the LP is? I want to say its just like the ML but I honesty don't know and I am not going to ask my book!
