I generally bet on Texas at most once a season and already did so at Tech. Texas has been nails on Big 12 Mondays. I am inclined right now not to break my rule, but based on my usual capping criteria, which I think has spoken for itself this year, I would have a play on Texas tonight.

perhaps orange-tinted glasses but sure seemed like a jobbing taken by the Horns grossly outnumbered on free throws and that non-call on the 10 second violation was just brutal

perhaps Sean Sutton is taking an SAT for one of the ref's kids

PS The home team higher ranked favorite is storming the court?

bad officiating is an uderstatement. i'm not one to complain about the refs after a loss but this was really awful.

Mouton's shot should have counted when he charged after he shot it.

Called a foul on Tucker when he was shooting and not moving.

Lucas traveled when his feet came out from under him and they whistle foul on Ivey. That led to 2 FT's.

10 second violation by Pokes AND they get 2 points out of it.

Probably a few other blatant calls that I can't recall at this time but it took Texas right out of that game. Horns just need to regroup now and get ready for the Big 12 tourney.

Sorry for your loss Sun, tough one to swallow.

Yea tough loss Sun, I was on it as well.....however, I think I have a better feel for these teams going into the Big Dance......I feel pretty comfortable saying that if Texas gets a decent draw they can go a long way......I am not so sure I can say the same for Oklahoma State.....I think they rely on many different factors to be successful.....they have been able to get through the Big 12, which is weak compared to years past, but lets see how they respond to a big game outside their crazy fans......

Damn, what is it you guys have against this Oklahoma State team? The Texas bias to this thread is just too much for me to stand back and listen to without a little rebuttal. Is a Big 12 title not enough to prove that this Oklahoma State team is SPECIAL? Last night, the Cowboys found a way to win another big game, just like they have done repeatedly this year. You act like they haven't proven that they can win outside of Stillwater. How many quality road victories does it take for you to see that this team has the tools to win ANYWHERE. It's not like the Big 12 gave this team a special invitation to play all of their games at home this year.

The Cowboys sweep the Horns and there is still a question as to who is the better team? Come on, guys, take off those burnt orange glasses and open your eyes to the 2004 Big 12 Champion OSU Cowboys.

Also, I have to respectfully disagree with Big Tease when he says that the Cowboys "rely on too many different factors to be successful". Exactly what are these factors and how is it that they just happened to line up so perfectly 23 out of the 26 times they have taken the floor this year? Bottomline, is that this team is for real and they will continue to show it through post-season play. Eddie Sutton will continue to get the most out of this cohesive, talent-rich squad.

Good Luck to All,

-JC

Okl St has certainly had a fine year and i dont think I have ever said otherwise, although I do contend their coach is a scumbag. That said I just don't see them as a real title threat. The league is certainly down and Okie State matches up well with UT, but they are going to have real trouble with just about anyone else of any quality.

Not an OSU fan at all but have followed this team throughout the year and have made quite a bit of cash on them. IMO they are one of the most underrated teams in the country by the gambling community. There only losses on the year have come against very strong competition on the road. They lost early in the year to BYU - well after last night BYU officially went undefeated at home this year. They lost to Texas Tech when the Raiders were playing their best ball. And then they caught Missouri at the wrong time and still took them to double OT. In addition, they handed both Iowa St. and Texas their only home loss of the season. I don't know what else this team has to do to prove that it's for real.

I also don't understand the criticism like "I think they rely on many different factors to be successful" . . .Um, isn't that a good thing? The worst thing you can be heading into the postseason is one dimensional. Relying on many different factors is exactly what you want to be doing at the end of the year.

I realize many are pissed about last night's game, and I didn't see any of it, so you all may be right about the terrible calls and the tough break as well as the fact that Eddie Sutton is a scumbag, but to suggest that this Okla St. team is not as capable as any team in the country of making the Final Four is ridiculous.

When the roll through the Big 12 tourney, will that be enough to convince you?

I think they are a bit underrated as well...no reason they can't make a deep run in the Big Dance. Solid in just about every phase of the game (save maybe FT shooting). Their shooting percentage from the field is over 50%..that's superb for a team that also plays excellent defense. Very experienced team and they now have that lead guard in Lucas who can really make a difference in tournament games.

One clarification on that BYU game though. It was played at the Delta Center in Salt Lake, so not technically a 'home' game for BYU, though pretty close.
