La Tech (+3) over Rice
The Owls are 3-7, but they are 3-0 at home. The Owls are a good ball club and they gave UTEP a good run in UTEP.The Owls continue to lead the nation in rushing at 311.5 yards per game. The Owls own the No. 2 rushing defense in the conference. However Ryan Moats, will be the difference maker! Coming off only a 60 yard performance against Boise he will be looking to run. EVEN with a great run defense of Rice he will find some room. La-Tech has played much better teams than Rice...Miami, Tenn, Auburn, Boise. Those games even though they lost get these players used to that type of talent. So when they play a poor team they have an advantage. Beating La-Laff, Tulsa, Fresno, SMU and Nevada. While Rice has lost to Fresno, Tulsa and Nevada and the toughest team they have played has been UTEP/ Fresno. Rice should turn the ball over, Moats should find running room and QB Allen can make plays. IMO La-Tech is the better team. But sometimes the better team doesn't always win, so I'll take the 3 as well.
