Had a rough start to begin the week, with Miami's lackluster passing offense on Thursday night as we came just 4 points shy of covering the spread at Houston. Here's a six-pack of games to get out of that hole and build up the bankroll.

Season Stats:
College Football: 1 - 2 .333 (-0.4 unit)

Purdue -21 over ILLINOIS (2 units) - As of right now, Purdue has been the most impressive team in the Big 10. Orton's numbers should invoke fear from Big Ten secondaries. The Illini defense is so weak that offense gave up players over the offseason just to give it a boost, not that it'll help.

VIRGINIA TECH -9 over North Carolina State (2 units) - NC State is in big trouble if they can't solve their TO problems. The VT defense is good and, obviously the NCSU offense is struggling. If the Hokies can play vintage Beamerball, then this could get ugly.

Washington State/ARIZONA OVER 38-1/2 (3 units) - Rare to see a college total in the 30's. I'm jumping on it.

MICHIGAN -13 over Iowa (2 units) - The loser here faces a tough battle the rest of the way. With road games at Purdue and OSU, Michigan can't afford any home slipups. I think Carr puts enough trust in Henne to get the Wolverines through.

Kentucky +19-1/2 over FLORIDA (3 units) - The Gators lost a heartbreaker last week and will get back on track, but 19-1/2 is too many points here.

ARIZONA STATE -7-1/2 over Oregon State (2 units) - BSU exploited the Beaver secondary. ASU is developing a running game, slowly but surely, and the O-Line can protect Walter with the best of them. ASU has many options to throw the ball at.

RECAP:

Purdue -21
VIRGINIA TECH -9
Washington State/ARIZONA OVER 38-1/2
MICHIGAN -13
Kentucky +19-1/2
ARIZONA STATE -7-1/2

ASU held off a late Oregon State rally to give MONKEY a victory for the day. Final scoreboard totals were a 3-2-1 record and +3.6 units for the day.

After a rough 1-2 start to the morning, it looked like it might go downhill in the afternoon until Arizona lost a bizarre game. The Wildcats, leading 19-14, only had to run out the clock (1:20 to go) and WSU had just one timeout. UA fumbled and Washington State scored the touchdown to just barely put the total over 38-1/2.

Season Stats:
College Football: 4 - 4 - 1 .500 (+3.2 units)
