Gordon is the defending spring race champion in Talladega as well as this year's Daytona 500 Champ. The DEI cars had a lot of trouble in qualifying and Saturday's happy hour practice was rained out.

Gordon clearly had the best car throughout the race, but it was still quite impressive to see him pass 3 cars when he dropped to 4th with just 4 laps to go.
