Did some pass D analysis as I think this game will be won by the team that can throw the ball for 1st downs and big plays (both run defenses are very very tough).

Tennessee's pass d doesn't look that bad overall (19th in yardage, 10th in yards per pass). However, they padded their D stats against the likes of Houston (twice), Jacksonville (twice), Baltimore and Cinci.

In games vs playoff teams (NYG, OAK, IND twice, CLE, Pitt twice, Philly) Titan opponents averaged:

27 comp 42 attempts 301 yards 2.5 TD's and 1.4 int

Digging deeper, in road games against playoff teams (NYG, OAK, IND) Titan opponents averaged:

29 comp 41 attempts 328 yards 2.66 TD's, .33 interceptions

Also in those three games, the Titans averaged just 2 sacks per.

I don't think anyone needs a reminder that the Raiders lead the league in passing at 279 yards per game.

Now, lets look at the Raiders pass defense. 25th overall at 220 yards per game and 11th at just over 10 yards per pass. However, in my opinion, their entire pass defense depends on Charles Woodson playing. He allows safeties to help Torey James and the others, because he can take his man out of the game.

In eight games where Charles Woodson played significant time at corner (SEA, @PIT, SF, @DEN, NE, @ARI, NYJ, NYJ) the Raiders gave up on average of:

22 comp 36 att 212 yards 1.3 TD's and .87 ints.

Couple this with the fact Steve McNair is now adjusting his grip for this game, and the Freak won't practice at all....

Thumbs Down

Throw the eight out the window, it ain't gonna matter.

Good info except you failed to mention in those 3 road games against playoff teams they were dogs in all three and one straight up in 2 of them. They beat the Colts & Giants. The only bad game they had was the Oak debacle when they gave up 3 fast scores and lost complete control of the game. :yup

AFter those 3 scores, they played them 25-31. You can't really throw them out the window, but there are different ways to look at that game.

Trace Armstrong also has a pretty serious injury that hasn't been mentioned too much this week.

I know what their record was in those games, just wanted to point out what their defensive performance was like. The Titans are a good team with big gaping holes in a couple key areas. Oakland will score early and often, and the game will get out of control again.

Also remember, Oakland killed them w/o Woodson in the early meeting. ;)

Where's the food? Steve Mcnair hasn't praticed since the Democrats ran Congress. It doesn't matter. No one thinks this Titans team is anywhere near where they were when they were 1-4 and first played the raiders.

I don't know where the big gaping holes are, but this Titans team seems pretty solid all the way around. Not extraordinary, not fantastic, just solid. Oakland will score. It will be up to the Titans pass-rush to keep them in the game and Oakland off thiers. I think they will do well. The raiders have no back-up QB. If the Titans accidently hurt Gannon (see Tony Siragusa) Marques Tusisasopo has only 3 snaps of NFL expirence this year (all kneal-downs).

BEWARE of the GIRTH of the TITANS.

Good Luck, I hope we both win.:burnout :slomo
