Ray Lewis is not a guy you should hate.

If anything, do it over that "dance" he does. Seriously, in Atlanta he was with a couple guys who stabbed someone. Hey, I've been hanging out with guys who got into fights too. I bet a lot of us have.

He's an active guy in Baltimore (just saw him a few weeks ago with the Mayor at a Christmas lights ceremony). He likes the town and seems like he wants to stay here for his career, which is always respectable.

He respects other atheletes. He works hard, and plays hard and CLEAN. Any shit he talks is in good fun. He's a great teammate that never gets down when the team is losing, helps younger guys, never complains about management.

As a matter of fact, I'm really surprised at the national perception of him. No one in B-more thinks bad of him.

He's a lot more like Lawrence Taylor (except for the coke problem) than he is like Romanowski.

If you can find any bad words he's spoken about other people, I'd like to hear it.

Romo, on the other hand, is a guy who has been known to take drugs, use racial slurs, and in the opinion of some, intentionally tries to hurt people on the field.

AI is a guy who doesn't practice.

Moss is simply a bitch and a law breaker and a complainer.

Terrell Owens is an attention hog and complains about his teammates and coaches.

You can't say ANY of that about Lewis. Wrong place wrong time. That's the only thing he's ever been guilty of.

Interesting observations. <P>
I can take the hype. I don't mind that Dennis Rodman wears a dress, or that Ray Lewis looks like a spastic chicken when he does that goofy dance. I hate, no I loate the athletes who have the natural ability (or God given if you will) to play sports at the highest level and they throw it away. I'm sure I speak for most madjackers when I say we would all like to live the life and be professional athletes. The life of a professional athlete: playing a child's game for your income. No 9 to 5, no "sales quota", and no ditch digging, just stay in shape, practice and play. I know they work hard to preform, and the schedule may be grueling at the level they are and I don't begrudge that, but these guys are living in a dream . They are living my dream. I loate the ones that f-ck it up.<P>
