Sorry. Didn't update this when sold.

Sold on 9/20/05 @ 4.00 for 48% gain

This option topped out right at $5.00 (+85%), but I got greedy thinking it would continue up.

Very nice, been buying BRCM November 45 calls around $1.75. Have to be careful with their earnigns next week. Hoping to get a nice run into them, and a lot of earings from EBAY, YHoo to get the market going next week. Like that BRCM has seemed to find some support today also.

I believe the tech sell off is going to be over soon, but I'm not willing to place any wagers on it just yet.

I wanted to correct my % numbers from above.

Sold @ $4.00 for 67%
and $5.00 represented 108% growth

I'm not sure how I came up with the numbers above.

doughboy--I'll peek at that position

that was a very good gain, good trade. it would be great if we could pick the very high and low, however hate to sell something when it makes a new high.

would like to tell the Fording FDG.un story for the twentieth time lol.

bought Fording FDG.un (mainly because the Ontario teachers pension plan bought a large position).

like the coal story and bought at $26-$29 cdn. had a target of $42.50 -$45 in twelve months.

well in less than four months it hit $43, what a great trade, and sold could buy more later. sold 75% of the position.

stock split 3-1 and is now trading at $48, not counting ussually pays $1.80-$2 in dividends every 3 months.

still own 25%, never sell a stock when it is making a new high.....
believe I learned that lesson.

thanks

I try very hard to only look at it as a win, kirk. That's a good story to have in your pocket.

What really sucks, and this comes with my early level of discipline, is that when I was forecasting the stock I had it predicted exactly right (except that I had it stopping around $4.70), but when it came down to actually seling it my greed took over, and I was wanting more than a double.

Lesson learned.

That is actually why I have moved my money to OprtionsXpress because of all of the various triggers that they allow you to set when you first enter a trade. It basically can take all emotion out of your decisions.
