Mountaineer for 5/28 (solid play in race 1)

Just starting to look over the card for tonight as I may or may not even get to the OTB tonight, but I really like the 5 in the first race Mach One Girl ridden by Andrew Ramgeet. Ships in and takes a very small class drop for new trainer, has hit the board 2 of 3 tries this year and has competitive speed numbers to beat this bunch of bottom level claimers. The 1 horse Outback Annie certainly has a class advantage over this group, but has not raced since April of 03 and shows only 1 work since then that I can find on May 17th, so if this one does not fire we will get the win on the 5 horse, morning line of 6-1, should go off about that price I think.

Another bottom level claimer that has on of those WTF horses, the 1 horse ToursVal looks like he should destroy this bunch, but on closer look you have to wonder about this one, why run a 16000 Calder horse for a 4K tag at MNR? Looks competitive enough, but a big clue here lies in the morning line of this one, I watch Mountaineer very close and I know if this one was ready to run and destroy the field like the form leads you to believe the linemaker would have made this horse 6-5 or 4-5, not 5-2, you just have to trust me on this one, this is a big red flag to me. I'll look next door at the 2 horse depending on the price close to post time, anything over 4-1 and I am on Not Impossible being ridden by David McFadden, has the speed and running style to handle this field. I may be betting against the superior horse here, but something smells fishy.

Could not hold off the favorite down the stretch and ran 2nd, hate to say it, but my favorite track is running a bunch of chalk recently, some nights 5 of 10 winners are the overwhelming favorites, pretty sad day when you can't count on Mountaineer to be a graveyard for favorites.

Thanks StevieD, my boy McFadden sure kept it interesting the whole way though. Couldn't get to the OTB tonight, too friggin tired to go out, if I Knew anyone way paying attention I would have done the rest of the card, may still post 1 or 2 if your gonna be around.
