I know this has been done to death, but I just can't agree with the number 1's I have heard, everything from The Shinning to various Halloween movies and even a Nightmare on Elm Street on one of the lists, COME ON!!!! Anyone who sat through The Excorsist and wasn't completely disturbed by it is a better man than me! That has got to be the scarriest movie of all time, hands down!

The ending of The Blair Witch Project really spooked me. I would wake up in the night thinking there were shadows under my door, and I was 20!!

The scene that had me on the edge of the seat the most is a tie between the opening of Scream (before people talked about it) and when the clown came from below the bed in Poltergeist. I still hate clowns.

bj--The Blair Witch Project was written and produced by a guy from my hometown--Greg Hale. His step-mom and my mom are best friends.

Dawg, that scene from Poltergiest is right up there, but how about Linda Blair vometing while here head spins around, that was just freaky enough to be burnt into your memory forever.

I would have to say that the Exorcist movie affected me.

I still refuse to pay money to have movie producers scare hell out of me.

Believing that Doc has stolen a valuable cache of gems, Szell emerges from his South American hiding place and heads for New York. He has Doc killed, then kidnaps Doc's in-the-dark brother Babe (Dustin Hoffman). Repeating the phrase "Is it safe?" over and over, Szell, a onetime concentration camp dentist, tries to extract information from Babe by performing sadistic "oral surgery" upon him.

Even though this movie is not scarey per se, when that dentist has Dustin in the chair pulling his teeth and saying is it safe ?

I could almost put myself in that situation unable to do anything with no knowledge of what he was talking about.

I did decide watching that though if I was ever in a situation like that and escaped from it, I would hunt that dentist down and cut him up with a chain saw.

Yea, Exorcist was freaky especially on Chocolate Mesc. But, the Scariest was by far "Last House on the Left." I was a pup then and still experimenting w/Weed. Way back then it was only a nickel bag of Pot, but that movie scared us straight for the rest of the night:look: :eek:wned:

It has been a long time since I saw it, and I think it was one of the first Halloween movies, but at the very end when those two people were out floating in a row boat in the pond, and that MOFO comes up from under the water right beside them, I can still remember everyone in front of me jumping about three feet out of their chairs.

That was Friday the 13th pt I. It scared the sh*t outta me also. Everyone thought the movie had ended because Jason's mother had been revealed as the killer and she had just gotten her head whacked off by a machete.

They were floting around Crystal Lake with some nice, serene music playing, when that co*ksucker came flying up outta the water and into the boat.

Thanks Mademan. It has been so long, I didn't even get the movie right, but I still remember the scene very well.
