OAKLAND ATHLETICS ?130 - I feel that this is a very reasonable price for Oakland at home vs. a Seattle team that surprisingly remains the only winless team in baseball. While the Mariners usually hit left-handers well, Mulder is not one of the southpaws that they have teed off on. In fact, the last time Mulder faced Seattle, he held them scoreless on 7 hits in 7 innings with a season high 11 strikeouts last year. Mulder was also sharp in his seasonal debut vs. a good-hitting Texas team, allowing just 1 run on 5 hits in 7 innings. While Mulder was sharp in his first start, Moyer certainly was not, getting torched for 6 earned runs and 9 Men on Base in 5.2 innings vs. Anaheim. Moyer is a crafty southpaw that relies on pinpoint control, and based on his shellacking on Tuesday, it may take him another start or two to get his location to where he wants it. Moyer made one start here in Oakland last season in the month of April, and the A?s reached him for 8 runs in 4.1 innings that day. I look for the Mariners woes to continue today.
