I didn't get to watch one second of the 1st game because I was flipping between the Isles/Sens and Oils/Stars games. I'm pretty much set on playing the B's again, but wanted to get you guys' opinion on the flow of the game, and how each team did on the ice?? How did Brodeur look?? And of course, Hacksaw vs Shields??

And the total of 5o+24?? I know this is the best trap team by far in the league, but the B's still got 28 SOG's in game 1, and the Devils have been uncharacteristically taking a lot more SOG's themselves. Any thoughts??

Thanks in advance:D

dubs...i watched this game from beginning to end...and the bruins played very good hockey...the 2ng goal was due to GOREN laying the puck on a devils stick coming into the slot untouched...was a lazy and and very stupid play....shields had absolutely no chance on the shot and 90% of the goalies in the league would not have stopped it...

once the B's went down 2-0 i thought it may be a long night....but they did not panick ..stuck to thier game plan ...and played a great game...they showed a lot of character sticking in there....and almost tied it it on a few occasions....

that being said....the bruins offense came in waves...nonexistent ...to a couple of great chances...that was the tide and flow throughout the night...Glen Murray had a couple of point blank shots in the slot that Brodeur just made spectacular saves...

Shields played a good game...the loss was definetely not his fault ....and he made a few big stops to keep the B's alive...he was a bright spot in my opnion...

the special teams .."power Play" for each team seems to be nonexistent ....or is the penalty kills are that good?...DUBS you have been saying almost all year long that the devils power plays ineptitude will come back to haunt them...well in my opinion the playoffs is when that will happen ....form looking at the personnel on each teams power play units ..i honestly think the bruins have more scoring talent...seems to me the devils are a type of team that plays diciplined hockey and waits for opportunities .....for instance the Goren play....it was a spectacular shot....but the devils needed help from boston to score that goal...you dont see many great individual plays on new jersey....and thats why thier power play struggles in my opinion...the other team is more focused and is not playing around with the puck...rather thier one purpose is to kill time and ice the puck...so mistakes are limited thus newjersey goals are limited....the bruins however seem just go with the flow of the game..i cannot honestly tell you what "type of system" they play...maybe its a system that has no system..lol.....thats why if either team eventually gets a few power play goals it will be boston...they dont seem to be doing anything different as far as style is concerned between being full strength and on a power play...NJ seems to be a little out of sync or out of thier "system" during the man advantage...

with all that said....i think the BRUINS have a good chance at winning this game tonight..as i said before..all of these games have been tight...dont see that changing anytime soon....and i think atleast 2 of these games will go to OT in this series...so if the plus 1.5 is at plus money i may jump on it tonight...take a look at past meetings ...there are not a lot of games decided by more than 1 goal..and if it as close as it should be OT is not a far fetched theory...at plus 1.5 in OT we cannot lose....

TOTAL.....DUBS with all the defensive hockey the devils play...it was still a 2-1 game on weds...one more B's goal guarantees a push..there were a number of point blank oppurtunities for the b's which they can convert it game 2....so even though we say its where the shots are taken from rather than number of shots...there were some very good opportunities for B's in game 1 and to be honest shields is sometimes prone to give up a few stinkers...i would not play the under...but im not convinced on the over either....but at plus $ it may be worth a shot....

i believ NJ scored a goal within 5 minutes of the game in game 1 ...im not sure...check on that....and then did not do much for the rest of the game...i dont think that happens again tonight...

whats your thoughts DUBS....???

Thanks very much for the response, guys, it's much appreciated. That was 10 times more than what I was expecting:D, and also solidifies my lean on the B's tonite. Look at the B's schedule coming into the playoffs: vs Tor, @ Phi, vs NYR, vs TB, @ Ott, @ NJ, vs Buf, then game 1 @NJ again. That's a pretty good stretch of tough opponents (6 of 8 are playoff foes). And from what you guys said, it sounds like Game1 was competitive throughout, so I think +190 is a very good investment:D. Also I checked the schedules all the way back to 1999, and the B's had not gone winless over a stretch of 3 games vs the Devils. Plus we've got that #7 vs #2 seed trend:D. Gotta give the B's another try.

As far as the total is concerned, I'm probably gonna be passing, but like cooz said, that +return sure is tempting. I just don't like the fact that 5 only gives us a push in a game where NJ is involved. 4.5, however, is a totally different story. Unforunately, no luck finding that number anywhere:(. Both teams PK's have been good, while PP have really struggled. Also 20 of the B's L29 road games have gone Under the number. I'll probably watch the line movement and see, but likely no play on the total.

GOOD LUCK TONITE, GUYS. GO B'S:D
