this doesn't bode well if you are an auburn fan along with the fact that our weak secondary goes up against one of the nations top 3 Wide outs in Lee Evans. We will have the home crowd, no doubt, but it hasn't worked well in this bowl's short history

Anthony Davis's health will determine this one.

A question for you eagle. Does Auburn's D play much man to man? If so, do they have a top flight corner that can handle Lee Evans?

from what i have heard Davis is healthy and will play. As far as our D goes, yes we will play straight up man, and no we do not have a corner good enough to cover Evans. We cannot beat teams that can throw the ball. Ex,... USC, UGA, Ole Miss, LSU, ect... I haven't seen a line out yet, my guess would be auburn -2 to -3. I would have to take wisky here.

Interesting, wareagle. I know we got thumped by William Green the year we were there.

I don't think this will effect the outcome of this game too much.

I feel that Auburn's players want to save as much face as possible with this season. Ending with a bowl win could help to do that.

Auburn defensive coordinator Gene Chizik said that plenty of people have asked him about the head-coaching job recently vacated at Texas-El Paso. But he said Monday he's received no official inquiries from UTEP about becoming a candidate there. ... Auburn star junior running back Carnell Williams needs 129 yards against Wisconsin to claim the SEC rushing title. He ranks second behind Alabama's Shaud Williams with 1,239 yards in 12 games. Shaud Williams has 1,367 in 13 games.

Alvarez is 7-1 in Bowl games that includes 3 Rose Bowl victories with his only loss to Georgia in the outback Bowl. The past few years the teams that have given the Badgers the most trouble have been teams with spread formations. Passing teams have given them fits. This Badger team has suffered a lot of injuries during the season. Being from Wisconsin I will not give an opinion on the game just giving a few facts. Sorgi has played better later in the season but is very fragile and has gotten knocked out of a few games. The Badger offensive line is not a very good pass blocking team. I have a biased opinion so I would lean to the Badgers for the fact that Jason Johnson is terrible. I tend to play against the Badgers when they play a passing team and with them versus a running team. Good Luck on your Bowl plays and will pass any more info from the Wisconsin papers on the status of Davis.

wasn`t wisky basically spanking iowa before sorgi got injured?.....didn`t the back-up play terribly and commit multiple turnovers,basically blowing the game?......hope i`m thinking of the right ballgame....

how`s sorgi now?.....seems to me that when he came back into the line-up at the end of the season,they went on a bit of a roll....

Yes they were spanking IOWA before Sorgi got hurt. The back up threw three interceptions that led to IOWA's scores. The Back up has now been pushed to third string. Sorgi is okay now but he has gotten beat up pretty bad. I think IOWA is very similar to Auburn so I think the Badgers match up well as neither team Iowa or Auburn have a good QB and both have less than average pass defenses. Florida should hand it to Iowa big time.
The only tough thing about the Badgers is that Sorgi did well against 2 of the worst pass defenses in the Big Ten as Minnesota and Michigan State were awful. Badgers underachieved in the Big Ten. Lost to PURDUE and Minnesota on the last plays of the game. Played awful versus UNLV. Lost to Northwestern without Sorgi. Highlights beating OHIO State at Home and West Virginia on the road.

imo,alvarez/tuberville is a no brainer.......i`m surprised tuberville couldn`t do more with what he had....johnson`s a stiff....carnell williams is a beast and scares the hell outta me.....but,i don`t expect johnson to be a factor....

if davis is o.k.,i`ll gladly take the 3 with the badgers and alvarez.......

Look for this to be Caddy Williams last game in an auburn uniform. sources indicate he will be testing the draft waters this summer. Auburn will likely have three 1rst round picks this year after not having one player drafted last year. Dansby, Thomas, and williams not in that order.

Injuries to D-Line for Wisky

Darius Jones defensive end for the Badgers will not play in their Bowl game. The last three practices the Badgers have been using a freshmen offensive tackle as their number one defensive end as they are worried that the regular back up Monty who is only 6-2 and 246 would wear down versus the big Auburn offensive line. Thomas an offensive linemen has not worked out on the defensive side of the ball until the Bowl practices started. In the article in the Milwaukee Journal Thomas states that the transition has not gone as smoothly as he had hoped. Alvarez has stated this move is for the bowl game only and that he will be moved back to offensive tackle.
