Music download question

Anyone use their computer as the source of music to their home stereo? what kind of connection works...I'm new to this...have downloaded songs for years, but am considering loading all my CD's onto an old computer and plugging it into the home theatre...is this doable...and does anyone out there use a setup like this?

This is SO easy to do with a Wireless Pocket PC, you can share mp3s over the wireless network and play them in media player 9 on the PPC stereo out into your stereo or big speakers. Sounds Great!!!

KMA...what's the easiest way to connect a desktop to my home theatre (my desktop is on a hone wireless network with a laptop at the moment). Is there the equivlent of a network card-like device that I could plug into an input port on a standard home theatre system?

If this doesn't already exist, there would surely be a big market for this...
