the father....who was critical of certain radical muslim practices was a regular in muslim chat rooms on the net.......

and was warned by other muslims that he would be tracked down and cut up like a chicken if he persisted in his negative comments....

well,he ,his wife and his 2 daughters were tied up in their home, slashed and stabbed to death....

a robbery?....a coincidence?.....

"""""""""January 16, 2005 -- The father of a murdered New Jersey family was threatened for making anti-Muslim remarks online — and the gruesome quadruple slaying may have been the hateful retaliation, sources told The Post yesterday.
Hossam Armanious, 47, who along with his wife and two daughters was found stabbed to death in his Jersey City home early Friday, would regularly debate religion in a Middle Eastern chat room, one source said.

Armanious, an Egyptian Christian, was well known for expressing his Coptic beliefs and engaging in fiery back-and-forth with Muslims on the Web site paltalk.com.

He "had the reputation for being one of the most outspoken Egyptian Christians," said the source, who had close ties to the family.

The source, who had knowledge of the investigation, refused to specify the anti-Muslim statement. But he said cops told him they were looking into the exchanges as a possible motive.

The married father of two had recently been threatened by Muslim members of the Web site, said a fellow Copt and store clerk who uses the chat room.

"You'd better stop this bull---- or we are going to track you down like a chicken and kill you," was the threat, said the clerk, who was online at the time and saw the exchange.

But Armanious refused to back down, according to two sources who use the Web site.

Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy would neither confirm nor deny that cops and prosecutors were looking into the religion motive, saying only that "nothing is being ruled out." But a relative of the mayor who answered the phone at Healy's home said there was information the murders were "religion-related."

"There are several theories we are looking into, but we are not commenting on any of them at this time," said Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Guy Gregory.

Armanious' fervor apparently rubbed off on his daughter, Sylvia — who would have turned 16 yesterday.

"She was very religious and very opinionated," said Jessica Cimino, 15, a fellow sophomore at Dickenson HS.

A family member who viewed photos of the bloodbath said Sylvia seemed to have taken the most savage punishment.

"When we saw the pictures, you could tell that they were hurt really, really bad in the face; especially Sylvia," said Milad Garas, the high-school sophomore's great-uncle.

The heartless killer not only slit Sylvia's throat, but also sliced a huge gash in her chest and stabbed her in the wrist, where she had a tattoo of a Coptic cross.

Also found murdered were the wife, Amal Garas, and the parents' other daughter, Monica.

Fred Ayed, the deacon at St. George and St. Shenouda Church, where the deeply religious family attended services, said he's worried that the murders could have a ripple effect.

"I am concerned for the safety of our community," said Ayed, who knew Hossam for 30 years. "People are scared because one family was slain like cows," said Moheb Ghabour, publisher of a local newspaper for the Coptic community.

Osama Hassan, director of the Islamic Center of Jersey City, described the relationship between Copts and Muslims as cooperative if not friendly.

"I think there might be people that can get into physical fights, but not to the point of murder," Hassan said.

Both the deacon and uncle poured cold water on the theory that the family were the victims of a robbery gone wrong.

"This is not a robbery, Ayed said. "We found all of the jewelry in the house. They didn't take anything."

The FBI confirmed it has been called in to help with the case."""""""""""'

Isn't religious fundamentalism wonderful?

I'm tempted to go to that website and rip on islamic fundamentalists and wait for those assholes with a double barrel.

The family was Egyptian Christian, not Muslim, just for reference...their are 2 different types of muslims, the radical psycho "combine government and politics" retards and normal muslims who practice their beliefs in a quiet manner like any other christian or catholic would do...I cant wait till these radical SOB"s are caught and put in our prisons and known as the "muslims who killed a christian family"....wowwwwww, I wish we could videotape their gangbang and send it to the remaining family of the people brutally killed

they weren`t "anti-muslim"....they were "anti-radical fundamentalist".......

btw....does the koran forbid it`s followers to mix with the "infidels"(i.e.christians and jews)?

last time i checked,....in this country, you don`t get stabbed in the face 20 times for disagreeing about religion.....or anything else, for that matter...

vyrus...what does this mean?..

"wowwwwww, I wish we could videotape their gangbang and send it to the remaining family of the people brutally killed".......

you lost me there...i know you couldn`t possibly be as cold as this comment sounds....

I'm sure homosexuals get bashed and killed most days of the year, for nothing other than being gay.

We've got a court case here now (in Queensland) for 2 men that dragged a 16 yo aboriginal boy around behind a ute!

In the main forum here, the triple shooting over gambling debts.

People get killed for disagreeing with people every day of the year....Just most of them don't make headlines any more.

EDIT: I didn't at all mean to sound like I was defending the situation! I don't for one second.

mr c...the point was that this type of religious intolerance from radical muslimism has now hit the states...

you can cite individual incidents of gay bashing and "gambling disputes" till you are blue in the face...

it`s apples and orages....

like comparing a pillow fight to...well,9/11...

isolated incidents vs a worldwide terror campaign?...are you kidding?

the murder of the Israeli atheletes at the olympics....

pushing a wheelchair bound elder into the ocean off the achille lauro....

shooting pilots and pushing them out the doors of airplanes on runways

murders of hindus, buddists...christian's being forced into slavery to this very day...

philippine catholics and missionaries kidnapped and beheaded....

murders in the netherlands..france...everywhere...

these incidents are just the head of the pin...

i couldn`t possibly list every incident.....it would take days...

people around the world either convert or die....

radical muslimism is feared around the world...... the radicals don`t seek peace........ they seek conquest....how sad for moderate muslims that want nothing more than to practice their religion in peace..to be unfairly painted with the same brush....

gambling debts?.......are inveterate bookies waging a worldwide campaign of murder and mayhem?

wow...that`s some comparison

Sorry a bit of a vent when I said that. I wasnt necessarily being serious but I wouldnt mind the people who did that to that family be bruatlized in prison. I just think its disgusting to kill a man and his family over religious debate on the INTERNET.

what candidate or political party could ever buck them....and have a prayer at garnering any power in this country?....

the 2 party system is not a good thing,imo...a monoply if ever there was one....

Now something really bizarre is going on. Agreeing on a football game is one thing, gw, but being on the same page here sure is new territory!! :cursin:

Short term politics...Makes any kind of long term progress a secondary objective (if not further down the list)

I did read with interest yesterday (it may be old news) that Georgey wants to drill for oil in protected, fragile environments. (ie. parts of Alaska and even Antarctic!!)

Now, without sounding like a hippy!!....Surely NOW is the time to develop/perfect new, non-fossil fuels.
Solve a heap of problems at once.

...oh that's right. The Bush's. I forgot! ;)

if it were as easy as"bush is the problem when confronting the oil industry regarding alternative energy",we`d have it knocked.....

clinton had 8 years....how much progress did he make?....

sheesh....now it looks like i`ll have to reconsider my position on the 2-party system.... i`ve obviously overlooked something.... :rant2:... :banghead:
