Wanted to make some mussels and usually the ones I get are already in either a garlic butter or tomato paste type marinade, however wife bought a bag for me and they had no sauce so I figured I would try something out....So I put the frozen mussels in a large deep fry pan with some olive oil and water,I then added some balsamic vinaigrette and a can of chipolte peppers in adobo sauce(7oz can).Turned out great.....I don't measure when cooking and I like things spicy but if you don't you may want to only use half a can of the adobo peppers.I was hoping to find a homemade sauce that I would like for my mussels but instead I found one I love, the only downfall is they are too spicy for my son so I can't always make them my way.

I use olive oil, a bottle of clam juice, butter, plenty of garlic and parsley. Throw the muscles in and put the cover on until they open. Nothing better!

My wife doesn't eat hot or I would throw in red pepper flakes.
