Hey Guys!
Well, we got a winner last night in the MVC with Northern Iowa, so we are headed back to the Valley tonight to find a play.
Drake +3.5 at Evansville.
Drake is my sleeper team this year coming out of the MVC. It would not surprise me at all if we are talking about the Dr. Tom Davis Renaissance come March. Maybe that's a heady prediction, but at the very least expect Drake to make enough noise in conference play that it upsets the apple cart, limiting the MVC at-large bids, but in the process earning themselves an NIT berth which would be huge for a program that has not had a winning record in years.
In tonight's game vs. Evansville, the two teams are hot, coming in a combined 17-5 SU and 12-7 ATS. Evansville does have a home rout of Illinois State already on their resume, so we know they're tough at home. But ISU is headed to the bottom of the MVC while i do believe Drake will be an upper division finisher in league play.
They have four senior starters who feel it is their time for the spotlight. They come in brimming with confidence having swept Iowa and Iowa State and winning the Sun Bowl tournament last weekend.
Can they win consistently on the road. We'll find out. But, we do know they know how to win in Evansville, having beaten the Purple Aces in their own gym the last two years and three of four.
Against the number, Drake has covered 10 of 14 vs Evansville and the road team in this series is 6-2 ATS with five outright wins.
I dont think we'll need the points tonight, but i will gladly take them anyway!
Good Luck Everyone!!
