Jags +9,i need this win,so far,so good
Bears under 16.5 second half, looks good right now

I am going for the gusto here, just the 1 big afternoon play,if it hits,i will be happy :)

Chargers quarterback Drew Brees had a mediocre day (18-of-35 passing, 209 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT) without his favorite target Gates in the lineup last week, emerging from the game with a 65.1 passer rating. Brees hooked up nine times for 123 yards and two touchdowns to wideout Keenan McCardell, the best game for the veteran since arriving in San Diego midway through last season. Fellow starter Eric Parker (5 receptions, 75 yards) was also a contributor in the contest. But the team obviously missed Gates' presence in the middle of the field, with backup tight end Justin Peelle making just two catches for minus- four yards in the loss. Gates had 81 catches for 964 yards and 13 TDs last year, but had just seven catches for 61 yards in two games combined against the Broncos. The Charger line gave up two sacks of Brees last week, after allowing only 20 in all of 2004.

Denver had big problems in its secondary in the loss to the Dolphins, as Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey went down with a dislocated left shoulder in the third quarter, and fellow corners Lenny Walls and Darrent Williams were battling cramps throughout the second half. Bailey, who had seven tackles, an interception, and a forced fumble before departing, has never missed an NFL start but is listed as questionable for Sunday. Walls (4 tackles) and rookie Domonique Foxworth (1 tackle) would likely be the starters if Bailey can't go. Elsewhere in the secondary last week, strong safety Nick Ferguson contributed a team-high 12 tackles. The Bronco pass rush, which did not manage a sack against Miami's Gus Frerotte last Sunday, will need to put more pressure on Brees. That task will be made easier if end Courtney Brown, who missed the preseason with a dislocated elbow, can return on Sunday. Brown is listed as questionable.

San Diego running back LaDainian Tomlinson (19 carries, 72 yards, 1 TD) was conspicuously quiet against the Cowboys last week, not touching the ball on the team's 12-play, ill-fated final drive and not registering a catch for the first time in his NFL career. The Bolts will undoubtedly try to right that wrong on Sunday in Denver. Fullback Lorenzo Neal rushed three times for 15 yards and caught a pass against the Cowboys, while backup running back Michael Turner posted two carries for seven yards in relief of Tomlinson. The Chargers had 103 rushing yards last week, well below their 2004 average of 136.6.

The Broncos did a solid job against the run last week, allowing Miami running backs to amass a mediocre 88 yards on 29 carries (3.0 yards per rush). Former Browns defensive tackles Michael Myers and Gerard Warren combined for five tackles in the win, and linebackers Ian Gold (6 tackles) and Al Wilson (5 tackles) were contributors as well. In two games against Tomlinson a year ago, Denver allowed the Pro Bowler a combined 173 yards on 52 carries (3.3 yards per rush), including two touchdowns.

BRONCOS OFFENSE VS. CHARGERS DEFENSE

Denver quarterback Jake Plummer had a brutal 2005 regular season opener, completing just 22-of-48 passes for 251 yards, with a touchdown, two interceptions, and a fumble. Plummer's 51.6 passer rating in the game was not as weak as his showing the last time he faced the Chargers, when the Arizona State product completed 16-of-40 passes with no touchdowns and four picks for a miserable 24.8 rating on Dec. 5th, 2004. Plummer's favorite targets in last week's loss were wideout Rod Smith (7 receptions, 90 yards) and tight end Jeb Putzier (7 receptions, 67 yards), while fullback Kyle Johnson (2 receptions, 21 yards) scored the team's only touchdown of the day. No. 2 wide receiver Ashley Lelie (2 receptions, 17 yards) had a quiet day, and No. 3 Charlie Adams (2 receptions, 35 yards) made his first two career grabs. Tight end Stephen Alexander posted just one catch in his first game as a Bronco. Plummer was sacked only once, but faced constant pressure from the Miami defense. The Bronco line gave up just over two sacks per game in 2004.

Plummer likes to take chances down the field, and will undoubtedly test a group of San Diego corners that played poorly against Dallas last week. The Chargers allowed Cowboy quarterback Drew Bledsoe to throw for 226 yards and three touchdown passes, all to wide receivers, including two scores for 33- year-old Keyshawn Johnson. Starting corners Drayton Florence (5 tackles) and Quentin Jammer (3 tackles) will be counted on for more this week, and free safety Bhawoh Jue (6 tackles) will have to lend support. A Charger pass rush that had just 29 sacks in all of 2004 dropped Bledsoe four times last week, including one each for outside linebackers Steve Foley (6 tackles) and Ben Leber (5 tackles) and one for end Shaun Phillips (3 tackles). Outside linebacker and first-round draft choice Shawne Merriman made his pro debut but did not log a tackle or a sack. The Chargers were 31st in NFL passing defense last season.

The Broncos' best-laid rushing plans quickly went astray in the loss to Miami, as starter Mike Anderson (4 rushes, 5 yards) left with a rib injury in the first quarter against the Dolphins. Anderson yielded to backup Tatum Bell (13 rushes, 47 yards), who put together an uninspiring performance but was the club's only option off the bench as Ron Dayne was inactive. Anderson told reporters earlier this week that he would play against San Diego, but if the soon-to-be-32-year-old running back has a setback, either Bell or Dayne will be asked to carry the load. Fullback Kyle Johnson had his third career touchdown catch in the Miami loss. The Broncos put up just 70 rushing yards after averaging 145.8 per game on the ground a year ago.

San Diego's defensive strength in 2004 was rushing defense, and that trend held up last week as Julius Jones was basically held in check. Jones rushed 26 times for 93 yards and a touchdown (3.6 per rush), and did not have a run longer than 13 yards. Inside linebackers Donnie Edwards (11 tackles) and Randall Godfrey (10 tackles) were 1-2 in stops in the game, and Phillips (3 tackles) and rookie Luis Castillo (2 tackles) were contributors to the effort up front.
