Ok, not a lot of solid reasoning here, but for what its worth:

Maryland laying 1 over Tennessee. . .

My Bowl GOY last year was Tennessee laying 3 over Michigan. So why am I fading the Vols this year? Well, nearly the same reasoning as to why I faded my Wolverines last year:

They were overrated
The line was based a lot on name recognition
The other team is simply better in most phases of the game
The team being faded did not beat what I considered to be a solid opponent the entire year (exception Arkansas).

This was my reasoning for fading the Wolverines last year. . . the Vols for the most part fits this criteria. . . the win over Arkansas was a good win. . . no doubt about it, but it was at home. If this game was being played in Tennessee, I would sit back and watch. But Maryland is the play on a neutral field because they are simply the better team.

The thing that scares me is that every time in the last two years that Maryland has played a team on a higher level - talent-, prestige- and recruiting-wise, they've been killed. Tennessee is along this line and injuries beat on the Vols this year more than anything. With a month off, I think they'll show signs on why they were so highly regarded at the start of the year.

Good point Bobby. . . also, Tennessee played near flawless football their last two games of the year. . . they have great momentum coming into this one. I guess for me, I just need to see it in order to believe it and I just haven't seen it yet from the Vols. . . maybe I will today and it will end up costing me.

I still like what I have seen from Maryland the entire year rebounding off of the Notre Dame disaster. I feel they have the better tools.

Thanks you all. . . the way GOYs are supposed to work and in a similar fashion to last year's GOY with Tennessee over Michigan.

Lets all come up with winners for tomorrow to start out the new year on the plus side!
